Wonderful big cottage set over 3 floors, with beautiful view from back of property.
Wonderful big cottage set over 3 floors, with beautiful view from back of property. Location is good to explore Cumbria, Yorkshire Dales and also Scotland! All within an hours drive. Plenty of good places to eat. Highly recommend the Strickland Arms. Communication was easy and friendly with the caretaker and owner. Had a lovely email too from owner giving us lots of local info prior to our arrival, which was very helpful. We would highly recommend this cottage, and would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic week away at the old mill.
Fantastic week away at the old mill. Beautiful secluded location and we loved watching the trains go by. Penrith a very short drive away probably 15 mins and same for pooley bridge/ullswater which is beautiful. Lots of restaurants and pubs nearby to eat out at. We arrived on the Saturday, heating was on and we found everything to be very clean and tidy. We didn’t really need to buy anything i.e washing up liquid, toilet roll etc. someone has also kindly cut up lots of logs and kindling for the fire. We were also greeted with a bottle of wine and a box of shortbread which was a nice touch. Highly recommended!

A special thank you to the owners and caretaker of The Old Mill for our lovely stay.
A special thank you to the owners and caretaker of The Old Mill for our lovely stay. The Old Mill is secluded, peaceful and relaxing, set by the River Leath, yet close by to the beautiful villages of The Eden Valley. So much quieter than Keswick and Ullswater but they are only a short drive away. Haweswater is a 30 minute drive away, and a hidden gem, the village of Askham and Lowther Estate a 5 minute drive with two very good pubs and the Michelin star Askham Hall, wonderful grounds for walking. The Old Mill has 3 floors, so much space, was spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished, well equipped kitchen, very comfy beds ,handy washing machine and a dryer. A big family bathroom, one of two with bath and separate shower, loads of hot water. We loved watching the trains from the gorgeous gallery balcony, perfect for sitting with a glass of wine and watching the wildlife. We had a wonderful stay
