DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Kuala Lumpur
4/10 Poor
"We had multiple issues with our stay - in our room the rainfall shower head didn’t work, and water leaked on the floor where we had to block it with multiple towels. The water was not warm enough. The design of the hand wash basin was poor, where water leaked behind the sink. There were moths behind the screen which goes in between the bathroom and bedroom. There was also a damp smell in the bed. There aren’t any windows to open in the room so the room isn’t well ventilated, even when using the air con. The rooms do not look like the pictures online.
We informed staff and this was not followed up with until our last night where they offered to send an engineer, but there was not point as we were about to leave. There was also a planned power outage during our stay which we should’ve been told about before we arrived so that we could have the option to book another hotel instead. Staff gave us a complimentary free dinner one night, but we would’ve preferred compensation. Very disappointing stay for a double tree hotel, and would not stay again.
The only enjoyable part was the breakfast and the kind staff there "

Hyatt Centric City Centre Kuala Lumpur
8/10 Good
"The hotel is two years old so still looks pristine. We paid for a high floor and got the 8th floor even though the hotel has 20 floors of rooms I believe. The room was very clean and comfortable with a small balcony which you could stand on. The view was 10/10 but being only on the 8th floor we could hear traffic noise most of the night. The shower cubicle has a traditional head and a rainfall head which are both great but the floor is not angled sufficiently towards the drain and so the water does not drain away and forms a lake. Hotel location is excellent and the pool and gym areas very nice with good views of the city. Unfortunately the one night we stayed, the bar was closed inside for a private event but drinks were still served by the pool. We skipped breakfast however as it was not included in the room rate but we did not want to pay RM64 per person as that is expensive so we went elsewhere. At the end, the Reception did not ask how our stay was but overall they were friendly."

Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur
10/10 Excellent
"This hotel was exceptional, the breakfast was five star restaurant quality with sweeping views of Kuala Lumpur.
Our room had breathtaking views of the Patronis Towers and the location of the hotel in KLCC is brilliant.
We dined at two restaurants on site and had room service and could not believe how good the food was.
This is our favourite hotel in Malaysia. "

Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur
10/10 Excellent
"Everything is immaculate ! I got sick during the check out day and asked to check out a bit later, at 2pm, so I can rest a bit more before catching a later flight. The service staff are so friendly and granted my request. And also give me extra water to take"

Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa, Langkawi
10/10 Excellent
"I would highly recommend Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa at langkawi. Our room was great. The service was excellent and I would particularly like to praise Leesa (greeter at the front of the hotel) for providing wonderful customer service. The location of the hotel is perfect. We booked a taxi for getting to things that are not a walk away (Best service +60 12-5699950) You can walk down the beach to shops or take the footpath. The beach is much more scenic at nighwith fire throwers, places to eat and drink (very ambient at night). Check out the "Ah Chong Beach Bar & Cafe" right on the beach and about 8 minutes walk from the hotel. The food at the hotel is also great. The Pelangi Grill does a great breakfast spread with a beach view and you can choose what you like. The dinner menu is also good. The lamb shanks were so tender and it was the best mashed potato and gravy. They also do a board that has two steaks, grilled chicken and two racks of lamb with vegies etc There is more on the menu but they were my two favourite.. It is designed for two and it is very nice. The shops are a short walk away. We filled a suitcase with the things we found there. Check out the places recommended to see. Also hire a taxi to see the "Dream Forest" Take a photo before they open the door that looks like a book. The Pizza Hut and Maccas at Langkawi are both good. We did everything but the parasailing and jet skiing. I would recommend you look up what is there and just tick it all off. Best holiday. "
