Bastler managed ehemaliges Wohnhaus zu Hotel um

Posted 21-Oct-2016

Unique and friendly hotel

Posted 19-Oct-2016 on Hotels
Its a unique hotel situated away from the main bustle of town but within easy walking distance of everything Calais has to offer. There are every standard of restaurants within walking distance. The owner is friendly and helpful. The rooms are a good size with en-suite facilities including some rooms with a bath which is what I like. The hotel is in the process of being renovated by the owner but all the rooms and corridors are clean and tidy. The choice of decor is individual. You can park your car on the road outside the hotel which is what I do.

Good deal for the price

Posted 28-Sep-2016 on Hotels
There was no wifi at the hotel when I arrived. Which meant no wifi at the room and no way to pay by card. It really started my stay on the wrong note. The room was big and clean, however the shower could use a bit of scrubbing. The common areas were under renovation and felt a bit glum. The host seemed to do his best to be helpful and be friendly but a smile would have gone a long way.

Shocking, wouldn't even put the immigrants in it

Posted 22-Sep-2016 on Hotels
The hotel was that scruffy, we didn't even walk through the front door once we eventually found it. The picture for the hotel isn't even on their property, it's an entrance to a park

Very pleasant stay. the hotel is being renovated. only noticable as most walls in public areas still needed final finish, other than that very ok. low key personal friendly hotel, good beds, good shower (good amount of water coming out). Didnt use their breakfast, but sounded ok. They have a small enclosed back yard for parking (€5,-) for 3-4 cars. Free parking on the street. For those who are afraid to go to Calais due to recent developments; don't be! It is just like any other semi sleepy small town in France. They do have a good selection of restaurants though!

Great overnight stop.

Good overnight stop in the centre of Calais. The area felt very safe, limited secure parking but on street is fine. The owner Bienot is gradually restoring the hotel on his own so there is work ongoing. He is so kind and helpful itsr difficult not to like him!
