Domaine de Saulon

Domaine de Saulon

8/10 Good
"Notre séjour s’est très bien déroulé, le personnel sympathique et respectueux, les espaces très appréciés. La chasse d’eau de notre toilettes était capricieuse et plusieurs choix n’étaient pas disponibles sur le menu ce qui nous a quelque peu déçus."

10/10 Excellent
"The location of this property is right in the center of the village, walkable to a large variety of cafes, restaurants, and wineries. We stayed in the “Chambertain” room (each of the rooms has a unique wine-related name, rather than a number). The kitchen, bathroom, and living room are all on the ground floor, making the arrival with luggage very easy (especially nice for us being seniors). The bedroom is very spacious in what was formerly an actual wine cellar at the lower / basement level! Truly a unique experience and quite beyond description. With that in mind, it’s worth noting that the bedroom has arched “barrel” ceilings, with the highest point about 5’- 10”. Moving between the living room and the bedroom requires navigating a narrow “ships ladder” stairway— not a problem for us having many years of boating experience, but the stairs are more narrow, and the steps are higher than what “landlubbers” might expect. This should not be a problem for most folks, but anyone who has concerns about confined spaces or navigating stairs that are more like a stepladder or narrow spiral staircase might want to consider a different room. Not a criticism, just a “heads up” intended to avoid any unpleasant experiences for guests or for the staff. Cheers!"

"The hotel was good for an overnight stay on our travels through France to Italy. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. it was good to have free onsite parking. It is a short drive to Dole town to sightsee and eat. We didn't have breakfast as our dog was not allowed and it was 12 euros each."

"This is a modest hotel just out of the centre of Nuits-St-Georges which is perfect for a stopover when crossing France. The staff are extremely helpful - the receptionist spoke very good English and suggested an excellent restaurant for us - the room was clean and well set up, and the breakfast was good. An excellent and well-priced base for a quick look around this lovely area, and highly recommended for value."

Château de Longecourt en Plaine

Château de Longecourt en Plaine

10/10 Excellent
"A stunning gem of a location. Absolute superb surrounding and the feeling of being the only ones there. Very impressed with the traditional upkeep and every room was mesmerising. Good selection of breakfast. Suggestions: a larger and better functioning fridge for guest to store their food. More flexibility as to where guests can eat and drink and to be less restricted. Highly recommended"

Château de la Berchère

Château de la Berchère

10/10 Excellent
"This chateau is in the middle of a complete restoration but that did not detract from the experience. The owner is warm and welcoming. The building is steeped in history including a large bedroom suite slept in be Josephine, wife of Napoleon. Minutes from Nuits St Georges it worked well as a base from which we cycled on the designated and safe vineyard bike tour 40km there and back to Beaune in one direction and same to Dijon in the other. Just stunning"
