It is located in a 19th century walk up building on the 5th floor in the 4th arrondissement. Off the hall there is a king size bedroom with a heater, shutters, a closet, table and chair. Leading off the bedroom is the bathroom with bath tub/shower, WC and heater. The washing machine and dryer are also housed there. The apartment has a double sofa bed, 2 arm chairs, a pouffe,TV, DVD player and DVDs, cable/satellite, high speed Wi-Fi, and decorative fire place with hard wood floors. There are views of the river on both sides of the island. There is a fully fitted dining kitchen with dining table and 6 chairs, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, ceramic hob, extractor fan, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee maker, crockery for 6, kitchen utensils, pots and pans as well as iron, ironing board, fan and hair dryer. All bed linen and towels are provided as well as napkins and toilet papers. The Cathedral of Notre Dame is a few minutes walk away from this superb apartment. The streets on the island are a food lovers' delight! There are restaurants to suit all tastes whether it be tourist menus or fine dining. There are ice creams shops on nearly every corner. The cremerie and bakery nearby will provide all you need for a picnic in the Tuileries Gardens, the Place des Vosges or the Luxembourg Gardens. The Jardin des Plantes is a little stroll down the river. The Bastille, the Louvre, Tuileries Gardens, Musee D'Orsay, The Marais, the Latin Quarter, Centre Georges Pompidou and St. Germain des Pres are just a few of the local attractions. There is a choice of transport links (RER B and C and Metro) for Roissy CDG and Orly airports and Disney Land, Paris just minutes away.There is even a little sand pit for children in the garden of Notre Dame. The design stores and boutiques of the Marais are over the Pont Marie. The book store, Shakespeare & Co, is a short walk away too. We have renovated and refurbished our apartment and we love this little part of Paris. We hope you will too. You can walk everywhere or cycle or take the Batobus without going on the Metro. In the hustle and bustle of an international city, this is a little haven of calm. You can become a Parisian for the weekend, the week or the month! Visit museums, restaurants and bars to soak up the atmosphere and beat the queues for Notre Dame and the surrounding attractions. In winter the nearby Hotel de Ville has ice skating and sledging. The romantic Marais area has something for everyone whether it be designer shopping or antique shops. Paris is a foodie city and the Bon Marche food hall is not far away. The flower market on the Ile de Cite is also a must when you wish to say it with flowers! Place de le Concorde and the Champs Elysee are within walking distance on the other side of the River Seine. Super clean and with nice appliances and comfortable bed. Old world Paris charm. Since it is directly in center of Paris I was always only a few metro stops away. She had never been overseas and I wanted to make this special for her. This apartment is situated perfectly in Paris. It does have a lot of stairs so if you have health issues or bad knees, keep this in mind. But it is lovely and quiet. I accidentally left the key in the apartment but when I contacted the host, they took care of me immediately. I hope that I can return with my husband to continue our love affair —- in Paris ##### david w. Wonderful accomodation and location. My 29 year old daughter and I stayed for 7 nights. I found myself wanting to come right back to both il St. Louis and il de la Cite instead of spending time over the river inside the actual city (even thought islands are considered inside city) because it was a bit more quiet , even more charming, and all of our needs were met . Beware of the 5 flights of stairs. If your bag is heavy it will be a challenge - reviews are right about that but great exercise , too! Spacious. Many conveniences. Owner very helpful and easy to reach. But, mathematically, five flights of stairs equals approximately 100 steps. I'm 78 years old and in decent shape. First, there are 98 steps up. You need to know this. If you can deal with that, this is a great spot to call home base for your stay. We love this area of Paris and would stay here again, with less luggage. Some minor things need to be fixed with the place, the shower head holder, new towels, and an instruction guide for the washer/dryer. We got check in instructions about 2 weeks before, so that gave me piece of mind. A wonderful stay, can't wait to be back. ##### Scott E. The location was excellent (centrally located on Ile St. Louis) and the street, building, and apartment were very quiet. In the three days we stayed, we encountered another neighbor only once. We appreciated the washer/dryer and the shower had plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The only real negative we experienced were that the doors to the bathroom and bedroom closet were very difficult to open and the main bedroom door wouldn’t close (door got stuck on ceiling beam). The sofa bed in the living room was creaky and tricky to fold in and out, and just big enough for two kids, but it got the job done. Apartment was clean, tastefully decorated, and well stocked with toiletries, outlet converters and had enough toilet paper and paper towels for our stay. We would definitely stay hear again! ##### Katie S. Our kids slept well on the foldout couch and the bedroom was spacious. The apartment is charming and homey, and we enjoyed getting home at the end of a long day sightseeing. There are numerous shops, restaurants and grocery stores in the area. Notre Dame is a five minute walk away. Metros are close-by--Pont Marie station and Cité station were the ones we used most frequently. The Seine is all around and the island of Île St. Louis was lovely, but not noisy. It was a perfect location to reach all of the sites you might want to visit.Gina, the property manager, was always helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had.The washer/dryer is a combo machine that we were not familiar with, so that took some figuring out, and Gina helped us with that. Occasionally, the power would go out, but I believe this was primarily because 1) it is a lovely old building and 2) it was winter,so we had the heat on all the time. We found that if you turn off the heater in the bedroom, then you could do a load of laundry or a load of dishes. But if you had them both going at once, the electricity would go out and you'd need to press the button in the box by the door to turn it back on. This was by no means a deal-breaker, though! It's just helpful to know if you are there in winter. I like quirky buildings, so it wasn't a problem.The stairs gave us a workout, but we loved our view! I would highly recommend this apartment. ##### Clare O. It was very clean when we stayed there and well stocked with all the necessities (there was shower gel, laundry detergent, dish soap, extra toilet paper, etc.). The location is wonderful, we will stay on Ile Saint Louis every time we visit Paris. There is a nice hipster coffee shop (Noir) right across the street, and lots of wonderful restaurants on the main street, including a famous ice cream shop. At the tip of the island there is a park with a playground and there isn't too much traffic on the streets (only the streets that connect to the bridges seem to have much traffic--the street the apartment is on is very quiet). The apartment is on the 5th floor, so you have to be prepared to walk up all of those stairs (wasn't a problem for our kids, but would be tough if you have mobility issues). There is a sewer smell in the apartment when it is rainy, but that happens in many of the historic apartments, as well as in the street. There was no AC, but there were fans and it cooled off very nicely at night when the windows were open (no screens on windows, but minimal bugs--no mosquitos when we were there in late July). We didn't miss AC, it seemed to be fairly cool when we were there--highs around 75F/24C. We would definitely stay here again if visiting Paris. ##### Malia F. Things we liked - great location and lovely and quiet inside. Had everything we needed including washing/drier. The bathroom and shower are small but functional. The shower head holder needs repairing but works fine. Local shops are great with a little supermarket, bakery and restaurants within minutes of your doorstep. PLEASE NOTE this apartment is on the 4th floor with old wooden staircase so you need to be fit and strong enough to carry your bags up/down the stairs. Overall we loved our stay here and the great location. We have a few suggestions for improvement - Unfortunately, the sofa bed in the lounge room is very old and uncomfortable and needs replacing. No blinds or shutters in the loungeroom to block out light for the person sleeping in the lounge. Need a new frying pan as the base is all bent out of shape and isn't non-stick therefore not easy to cook in. A microwave would be fantastic. A visitor's book explaining how to use the wall heater in the kitchen area would help. The power went out one morning but the host was on to it and got it back on within a few hours. ##### Simon G.
