Right in the heart of the city on the Ile de la Cité, Place Dauphine is a historic location, having been built in 1610 at the request of Kind Henri IV. You will be surrounded by history while enjoying every modern convenience. State of the art elevator, separate washer and dryer, high security digital locks and double-glazed windows for good sound insulation allows guests to enjoy contemporary comforts in a remarkable 17th century setting. THE APARTMENT Located on the fourth floor, the one-bedroom Loupiac boasts a comfortable queen bed, en suite bathroom, a powder room and a fully equipped kitchen. Enjoy a romantic dinner at your home away from home or snuggle up with some French wine and take in the Parisian scenes just outside your window. THE AREA Just outside your door is one of the most coveted secret spots in Paris, the beautiful Place Dauphine. The square is lined with historic buildings from the early 1600s and is full of trees and a few perfectly placed benches to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. It is also a popular spot for locals to play a game of pétanque, which you can enjoy watching in the square or just listen to the soft clink of the steel balls used in the traditional French game from your window. The area is also popular with lawyers who work nearby at the Palais de Justice, so there are excellent cafés and restaurants to enjoy! Staying in the Ile de la Cité puts you right in the middle of Paris; it’s even called “Kilometre Zero”! You are within walking distance of all of the best sights, museums, shopping spots and best neighborhoods to explore. Also on Ile de la Cité are the stunning Notre Dame Cathedral and incredible stained-glass windows of Saint Chapelle. We knew this location from prior Paris visits. Quiet, peaceful, yet vibrant with tourists and bocce ball games. Great restaurants on both sides. The apartment is compact. You need to keep it tidy like a boat. Well appointed, modern, and they deliver baguettes every morning...how great is that! The elevator was large, the space was brand new, and the floor plan was open. Being located on Place Dauphine was a dream - the views from the apartment were fabulous and we were only a short walk from virtually anywhere we wanted to go. Although we never cooked the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we would've needed to cook. The apartment was of generous size (for Paris) and had all the conveniences of apartment living. I especially appreciated the electronic locks - it saved from having to worry about losing keys or locking oneself out. The location provides ease of access to the metro and RER+ (airport) and you can easily walk to many of the major attractions. Apartment was cute - every extra that was listed worked and was helpful (washer/dryer, blow dryer, dishwasher). They also had toiletries like paper towel and toilet paper -- we had bought some extra to replace what we used as well. There were fresh baguettes downstairs in lobby each morning which was a charming plus. Extra towels and blankets would have been helpful. Apartment only had sheet provided on bed with one comforter. No extra pillows anywhere either - 2 on bed. That said, if you have anyone sleep on the sleeper in main living area, you would need to get extra blankets locally. Place was clean. From the condition/quality of the furnishings, appliances, and shower to the elegant and soothing decor. Virgil was awesome, greeting us and getting us settled in. So much to see and do within walking distance, super convenient to the metro but hidden away on a quintessential Parisian square. The apartment was thoughtfully designed and furnished. It is spacious and the views are marvelous. The location is perfect, you can walk everywhere. The sofa bed is as comfortable as the regular bed, the sheets were sublime. By the second day we felt like we lived there. The kitchen is very well equipped.
