The fully equipped kitchen has a sink, toaster, electric tea kettle, mini refrigerator, stove, drip coffee machine, microwave-oven, and more. Full sets of dishes, cutlery and crockery are provided along with pots, pans and kitchen utensils. The apartment has a combination clothes washer and dryer. An iron and ironing board, vacuum, mop and broom are available. The bedroom is interior courtyard facing with a double bed with a superior quality mattress. Professionally laundered sheets, comforters, pillows and pillowcases are provided to you, as well as bath towels for each guest. The flat has one shower room accessible via bedroom with a shower, toilet and sink. The bathroom is equipped with a hair dryer plus complementary toilet rolls, shampoo, shower gel and hand soap to start your stay. Our guests’ safety is our top priority, which is why the flat is professionally cleaned and sanitized before each arrival. The apartment is heated throughout during the winter months. There is no air conditioning, but portable fans can be provided upon request, subject to availability. The Neighborhood: About the Paris 5th Arrondissement Location: The Latin Quarter of Paris has a prime location close to everything. This neighbourhood is rich with history and literature fans will love immersing themselves in this area. This area is home to the prestigious La Sorbonne university. From your front door, you are steps from the Seine River and the Ile Saint Louis, Notre Dame and Ile de la Cite. Saint Michel, Saint Germain des Prés and the Jardin des Plantes are all within walking distance. At your doorstep you’ll find a huge array of restaurants, bistros, cafés, ice cream parlours, florists, artisan chocolatiers, art galleries and much more! There is also the famous Rue Mouffetard nearby, dotted with a wide variety of cafes, restaurants, butchers, grocers and more. Within walking distance of the apartment is the fantastic Pantheon, the resting place of many important French figures. There were windows to both the street side and the courtyard side. The street has little traffic, but it is one block away from a busy street with many shops and restaurants. So it is both quiet and convenient. The courtyard view is very nice. Security in the building is very good. The apartment was very clean, and the sheets and towels are professionally cleaned. The wall heaters were not working, but the host provided three space heaters, which were adequate for the last two weeks of October. One has to be careful not to cook or use the hair dryer while the space heaters are running. When a fuse blew and I couldn't find the fuse box, it took hours for the host to respond. In the meantime it was cold and dark, but I did find a kind person in the building who helped me. You should familiarize yourself with the location of the fuse box in advance (over the inside of main entry door).I did not like that the ceiling is low in part of the living space, in particular above the bathtub. So it would be difficult to take a shower while standing up (without getting the floor wet). If you don't mind taking baths instead of showers it is not a problem. Check-in is by picking up keys from a self-service laundry. It worked fine, but I would have liked being greeted by the host sometime, at least over the phone. ##### Marlies G.
