All the buildings are classified and have to be preserved, nothing can be changed Our building (XVIIème) has been completely cleaned in 2010. The apartment is approximately 580 square feet with one bedroom (170 square feet) and a living room (210 square feet) and a separate dining room (100 square feet). It's on the first floor with a wide and elegant staircase . New elevator A BOTTLE OF FRENCH CHAMPAGNE IS OFFERED UPON ARRIVAL The white-walled apartment was completely renovated in 2010 with the old beams of the seventheenth and eighteenth centuries in all the rooms. Two walls are with the nude original stones. The apartment overlooks a large, white, very clean courtyard, it is very quiet, it is exposed to the north (never too warm, even in Summer when outside it's very warm) and very clear because of the white clean walls. All the windows are double glazed. The bedroom has a double bed (queen size) that can be 2 simple des (2x80) on request and there is a confortable sofa bed (160) in the living room for 2 children. The kitchen is fully equipped. The decor is very cosy. \----------------------------------------------- l'une des très belles rues de Paris. L'immeuble vient d'être 'ravallé' (nettoyé en décembre 2009/janvier 2010). L'appartement est d'environ 53 m2 carrés, avec une chambre (19 m²), une salle de séjour (23 m²) et une salle à manger séparée. C'est au premier étage avec un escalier large et élégant. Un ascenseur vient d'être installé L'appartement aux murs blancs a été totalement rénové en janvier 2010 avec les vieilles poutres du XVIIème et XVIIIème siècle dans le salon, la cuisine, la salle à manger et la chambre L'appartement donne sur une cour d'environ 400 m² très lumineuse, il est très calme, les fenêtres sont en double vitrage, il est exposé au Nord La chambre à coucher est avec un grand lit (queen size). le canapé convertible est également en 160\. The only significant downside was the smallness of the kitchen, but we made it work. The woman who checked us in could not have been nicer! We had a difficult time making the lock work and she came back with WD-40, and it worked perfectly. She lived in the neighborhood and we ran into her on the street and she gave us shopping tips. We stayed here in mid-April, 2024, initially chosen for its location. We've been to Paris 30+ times, and always stay in Saint Germain. Location couldn't be better. The apartment was extremely clean, and full of everyday living amenities. The king size bed was very comfortable, and should be to everyone's liking: not too hard; not too soft. After determining that we wanted to stay in St. Germain des Prés, we found this apartment and it didn't disappoint. The description is accurate, but I'd say that the photos don't do it justice - it's even nicer than it looks (I also loved the artwork!). It is a cozy, yet large space, quiet as can be, with all of the modern conveniences in a building that was constructed in the 17th century. How cool is that? With stone walls and wood beamed ceilings, it transported us to another time, but with amazing WiFi and other modern day conveniences. Francine was super, responding to our few questions quickly. And, Luzia, the "guardien," was sweet and helpful. I know other guests have said this, but it's worth repeating, the location cannot be beat. So convenient and close to restaurants/bars, transportation, bakeries, supermarket and so much more. We really felt like locals even if just for one week - magical! We can't wait to return!
