The road is a municipality road and we can't just pave it by ourselves, also a certain part is privately owned and the owner does not allow proper paving. Nevertheless, we are doing some improvement there at the moment with Anapog. I am sorry the room was smelly. There is nothing we can do about it now but we would have been able to do something about it while you were here - if we would've known. Same for the toilet bowl. Why you cannot connect to the wifi must be a setting problem with your phone as other guests can connect without a problem. I am also sorry that you did not like the food here, but we have a very good reputation around Alona, all our dishes are made freshly and we pay attention to detail. We have two standard rooms and they were without TV's. Now we have added a TV to one of the two rooms and will do the same for the other room shortly. Thank you

We offer transportation to Alona Beach (about a 10 minute ride) for only 25 pesos per person, one way, and drop off and pick up over 8 hours of the day. Driver is almost always accommodating guests way out of his working time frame. Motorcycles are available for rent.

If ever a guest is wrongfully placed into a room they did not reserve, possibly due to an oversite by reception or even by one of the outside agencies, we always accommodate them with cheaper prices, free lunch or dinner, free transportation to Alona Beach and back to the resort and try to make their stay more enjoyable and less expensive. We always bend over backwards for our guests if we feel we made an error in their booking.

Apparently this guy/couple did not take advantage of our transportation into Alona Beach and back during 8 hours of the day for only 25 pesos per head. Our driver even drives on his off time to accommodate guests. No foul orders were reported to me about his toilet. The food is outstanding here and priced just right - especially for the view that you get. We also DO NOT charge a 10% surcharge or 12% VAT like some finer restaurants or resorts do.

i was not the manager during this time period and I can not refute what the guest experienced. I do know that if the Cliffside Resort made a mistake in booking or room reservation then the guest was sufficiently compensated for in one way or another. Transportation to Alona beach and back is provided for many convenient hours of the day at the cost of 25 pesos per person per trip. This has always been the policy. Some of our pool beds are currently being replaced. As for the suite rooms being cleaned, it is up to the guests to inform the reception area for a cleaning of the room. All of the other rooms that we have, Standard and Deluxe rooms, have a sign to put on the door to let our house keeping staff know to clean the room. People come to our resort for the peace and quite, tranquility and of course maybe the best view Panglao has to offer. Those that want to go to Alona Beach for the day are transported there and also picked up for a nominal fee. Prices of food are very competitive with the area resorts. Food is usually served warm or hot and in a timely fashion. I am sorry that this guest had a bad experience with that. Come see for yourself! Read the other many positive comments about Cliffside. Not all guests are going to be happy and certainly a bad experience can lead to a bad review.

As the manager of the Cliffside Resort I know that for our suite rooms at that time the guest were informed to come to the reception desk to ask if they need to have their room cleaned. Since this incident, however, we have changed our system to now have a sign to put on the outside of each suite indicating to our housekeeping whether the guests want their attention. All of our other types of rooms, Standard and Deluxe, had the signs for their rooms and now there will be no excuses for housekeeping not to clean any room and also no reason for a guest to come to the reception area to request a room change.
