We call our Trullo 'Casa Adriatica'. Nestled in the beautiful Puglia country-side, in the heart of the Itria Valley, the property sits on 2.5 acres of land, with a gate and ample space for parking. Surrounded by olive trees, vineyards and fruit trees, here you will find peace and tranquility to get away from it all (although we do have wifi if you really want to take a peek at your social feed, or e-mails!) Enjoy your meals 'al-fresco' on the airy patio, taking in the panoramic views of the surrounding towns of Cisternino and Ostuni in the distance; soak in the rays while relaxing on our sun loungers; gaze at the stars in the summer night sky from the rooftop as the evening breeze fans your face. Whatever you choose to do, Casa Adriatica is the perfect setting for a truly magical romantic getaway, or a relaxing family holiday. There are 2 bedrooms. The master bedroom comes with a king size bed, while the second bedroom can be set up as either two twin beds, or a queen size bed. The property is equipped with a full kitchen with dishwasher and a small washing machine in the bathroom for maximum convenience. There is a nice sized TV in the living room with an Apple TV streaming unit, a Smart TV in the main bedroom, a collection of books left by other guests, and of course wi-fi. Casa Adriatica is located in the heart of the famous Itria Valley, and is minutes away from some of the prettiest towns in southern Italy. Cisternino, voted one of the most beautiful towns in Italy, is around a 10 minute drive, or the magical 'White City' of Ostuni is around 25 minutes away. Martina Franca, famous for its Summer Opera Festival, is also 25 minutes away, and World Heritage site Alberobello, 'City of the Trulli', is an easy 40 minute drive. Beautiful sandy beaches can be found on either the Adriatic (40 minutes away) or Mediterranean coasts (60-90 minutes depending on which beach you want to get to) and, whether you love nature, history, or both, there are lots of interesting places to visit. Much of southern Puglia (or Apulia as it is also known) was at one time part of 'Magna Grecia' (Greater Greece) and the historic influence is still visible in some of the small villages surrounding the historic city of Lecce, itself 2000 years old and boasting a beautiful Cathedral. Lecce is around 90 minutes away, and the ceramics centre of Grottaglie, famous for the Rooster design seen on many plates and jugs in the area, is around 30 minutes away. We have installed the latest in Heat Exchange technology, with individual units in each bedroom, enabling cool comfort during the hot summers, and - together with the built in central heating radiators - warm cozy stays during the colder months. This makes Casa Adriatica a perfect getaway for all seasons! For stays of 2 weeks or more, we include a weekly clean, including a change of linen and towels, and you can choose from a number of optional extras to welcome you on your arrival, including starter provisions (e.g. milk, bread, water, eggs, etc.) and/or a selection of locally produced foods and wines. For longer duration stays of 28 nights or more we offer additional discounts, although cleaning and change of linen and towels is by arrangement and at an additional cost. Our local agents are available 7 days a week in case you need assistance during your stay. A damage deposit of Euros 150 is authorized but not deducted from your credit card before your stay. In the event of any damages, these will be charged directly to your credit card within a few days after the end of your stay. Casa Adriatica is located in the beautiful Apulian countryside, and access to and from the Trullo is via a narrow country lane, with stone walls on either side. Guests should therefore be comfortable driving on narrow roads. Note that, in line with government regulations, our managing agents will collect a local tourism tax from guests upon arrival of 1 euro per day, per guest, for a maximum of 5 days. The owner, Richard was very helpful, eventhough he was not physically present, but available for our questions. The local guide Pierdonato from the agency then puts everything into action for us. I've just reread the property description. The only thing we didn't verify was the beauty of the local beaches but everything else is spot on. We arrived very late (thanks BA!) so with hindsight we should have opted for the bread/milk etc welcome pack but we couldn't have been happier with the property or the support from the owner and the local agents. The nearest towns are all beautiful and we travelled down to Lecce, Gallipoli and Matera in our Cinquecento rental. A good choice as it happens, the last bit of the journey from SP16 to the property comprising narrow track (a bit like some Cornish single track roads). We adopted the nearby Cucina Michio as our local (10 minutes away) pizza restaurant. Without a booking we got a takeaway on our first visit and enjoyed pizza and a bottle of their excellent Primitivo back at the Trullo. There's an excellent Mozzarella experience to be had at a Masseria near Ostuni, too. Only 15 minutes away. We loved our stay at Casa Adriatica. ##### Clive R. The only negative i have is the track from main road to the trullo is although narrow...which wasnt an issue for me, but our hire car (fiat panda) bottomed out on certain parts of the track which was difficult to avoid. Remote and private, with a solid supply of food pantry items (oil, salt, vinegar, etc.) and comfortable beds. We had significant trouble with the wifi to the point that it basically did not work for the entire 4 days, despite the constant efforts of the managing company. That said, the location of this home was perfectly situated for visits to Ostuni, Martina Franca, Alberobello, and more, and gave us peace and quiet in the evenings, and star gazing from the rooftop. ##### Elizabeth R. This is Apulian countryside at its best! The beautifully restored Trullo is very spacious and done up with great attention to detail and offers a covered private terrace furnished with sunbeds and a barbecue. Communication and handling on site was very easy and well organized. Richard, the owner, was most helpful and attentive and sent us well prepared pre-information about the area and answered all our questions within short. It was very comfortable, nestled among olive tree groves and utter silence. Tiny lizzards kept us company on the well shaded patio, and in the evenings we enjoyed bright star lit sky. The colours of sunrise were magnificent. The nearby town of Cisternino offered so much in terms of its charm and culinary delights, we never had enough. We hope to return next year and we would be most pleased to find two comfortable loungers to make our stay more perfect. With much appreciation. ##### lorne a. Gelogeerd in een trullo op het Italiaanse platteland. De weg er naar toe was al een attractie op zich! De trullo is heel compleet ingericht. Tijdens onze vakantie ging de douche stuk. Binnen het uur was het opgelost door Pierdonato, de beheerder. Prima service dus! Een aanrader als je de vald’itria wil verkennen en van rust houdt!! ##### Monique P. Die etwas weniger als 1km lange sehr enge und holprige Zufahrt (Steinmauern) war für uns eine Herausforderung. Die Terrasse lädt zum Relaxen und auch Essen ein, nur tropfte es bei Regen oder mit dem Morgentau durch (wurde beim Check-out mitgeteilt). Ab und zu bekamen wir Besuch von einem bzw. mehreren Hunden, die jedoch harmlos waren. Anfängliche Probleme mit den Stühlen sowie der Waschmaschine wurden so schnell wie möglich behoben. Die Hilfsbereitschaft war vorbildlich. Auch wurde uns ein wirklich gutes Restaurant in Cisternino empfohlen: TAVERNA DELLA TORRE. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind vorhanden (gr. Supermarkt in Cisternino). Bis zum Meer sollte ca. eine halbe Std. einkalkuliert werden. Faszinierend sind die riesigen Olivenhaine in der Umgebung mit z.T. sehr alten Bäumen. Wir haben uns wohlgefühlt. ##### Werner R. Sehr ruhig gelegen, ringsherum Wiesen und Olivenbäume. Schön ausgestattet, im Prinzip ist alles da - nur sehr wenig Steckdosen. Schöne Terrasse. Manko: enge Zufahrt (hat knapp für den VW Bus gereicht), niedrige Durchgänge im Haus. Viele nette Städtchen gut erreichbar. Vermieter Richard hat sich mehrmals erkundigt ob alles passt.
