We booked the family room. During the day it was fine but in the evening we were woken up several times throughout the night because the door to the room does not seal properly. It’s basically a sliding closet door. Light and noise came in from the bathroom sink area, which is an open area and located next to the room. People were using hair dryers at 2am even though the signs say not to. The dorm beds seemed to have a proper door and were not in the same area so I think noise won’t be an issue in that area. Ehhhh The place is clean, the bedrooms are spacious, the common rooms are cozy, the showers are high pressure, and the staff were very friendly. The only complaint is that the house dog situation was, for the time that I was there, a little concerning. They were quite vocal and unfriendly for the most part, apparently because they were in heat. I believe the staff when they say it's not always like that. But overall I greatly enjoyed Guest House Matsu so much that I kept wanting to spend time there with the great staff and guests.
