Our deluxe 2-bedroom apartment with a balcony overlooking the mountains is absolutely beautiful and comfortable, away from the pedestrian centre yet so close to it if you don't mind walking downhill and uphill. Similarly, the view from the outdoor swimming pool/jacuzzi is stunning. The apartment is well-equipped for self-cooking, but be prepared that there is no condiments except sugar for coffee and a small bottle of salt. Laundry facilities are available in the building @ 10 EUR per load inclusive of washing and drying. Alexander at the reception is very helpful. He even sent someone to the police station to help us pay our parking ticket which we got while parking at the supermarket because we didn't know that for free parking, we had to set time with the paper clock that was hidden in a pocket of our rental car. The staff was great. We got a free upgrade to a bigger apartment which was very spacious and had everything we needed. The views from the bedroom and the outdoor terrace/backyard was phenomenal as you can see all the mountains surrounding Ortisei. The pool was exceptional. The room was very nice. My kids enjoyed the pool. Staff was friendly and extremely helpful. Always smiling. Breakfast was great. Only two things to be aware of 1) You have to check in by 6 2) It is located up a pretty steep hill ( good to know if you are walking/taking public transportation). I believe there is a city shuttle bus that drops you off somewhere above the hotel so you can walk down instead of up but we didn't need up taking it. We were given free bus passes to use the shuttles which was handy. We ended up using it on our return trip to Bolzano. Had a large suite in the newer building - great views from balcony and plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 kids. Very clean and comfortable. Paid for breakfast two of the days and would say it was reasonably good value. Suite also had mini-kitchen.It's up a steep hill from centre of Ortisei but its the Dolomites so everywhere is up and down and got used to it and never felt need to wait for the local mini-bus service (free with supplied pass) to get up hill.
