"Good hotel, horrible restaurant/deli staff!"
This is very nice resort, in a great location. Our King studio had a weird design, with a bathtub being the focal point, but we managed. We would not recommend eating at the resort, specifically at the Cafe de Pointe Fast Food Deli. It is independently owned, not by the resort, and the owner is a rude and uncaring man, who apparently believes that because he has a captive audience, he does not have to be nice, efficient, or provide any type of customer service. He was hidden behind a huge cabinet, where he was cooking. The door chimes every time someone enters or exits, but he did not even acknowledge guests. When he did come to the counter, he would yell for his son to come in from sitting outside with another staff member. The younger man would come in, then leave again. We were told our order would take 20 minutes, but it was longer. When we commented on the wait, the owner shrugged and said we were lucky; some people wait 45 minutes. When we said we would not visit the deli again during our stay, he said, "Oh, well." In addition, our order was wrong: ordered a chicken Gyro and got a lamb Gyro, which I do not like. My husband ate it so we would not have to deal with the man again.
If you have every stayed at a Diamond Resort, as we have (though not owners), you know they have excellent customer service, but not at this deli. Please either go across the street to the food mart at the sister resort or drive to one of the many nearby restaurants.
