Orihuela Costa 1st floor, 2 storey apartment within a spanish gated community
The apartment provided the basics needed for a relaxing family holiday. It was very clean and well maintained. The grounds and pool were immaculate and the local residents and neighbours were friendly. The site itself is very quiet during the day and evening. There were only a few issues we experienced whilst in the apartment: 1-Bucket on balcony for air-con unit water excess needs emptying twice per day. If not you come home to a flooded balcony. A pour off drain needs to be fitted as this is not practical whilst on holiday. 2-Curtains in bedrooms let too much light in and the main bedroom ones were difficult to close. 3-The stair gate at the top of the stairs is a great safety feature. However there is no bottom bar to properly secure them to the floor to avoid an accident down the stairs. 4- No safety rail on the left hand side of stairs and large gap with drop 5 stairs up which incorporates a 3 stair twist at the bottom. All Marble Flooring throughout. The handrail at the bottom of the stairs was quite flexible on the bracket. 5-outside the property front door there is a small shared access area leading to a marble staircase. 4 stairs down it turns to the left, followed by approximately 15 more stairs. Half way down there is a tree growing over the staircase which looks beautiful but you can bang your head on it if above 6ft. 6-When using the toaster in the kitchen socket all the electrics tripped out. We then Used the socket on the left of the sink for this but Made sure no water in sink first. 7-Stuggled with entry to apartment as was only given one key. Locked the keys inside and had to wait 4 hours to gain access by the agent. No 24hour emergency contact available. Also the agent only spoke Spanish which made communication slightly difficult. Overall we had a lovely family holiday and some of the issues we had sound far worse than they actually were. Just want the next guests to be a little more prepared if only going for a week. We would book again at this apartment. Thanks Mel
