This is a hotel that is 115 years old, and sometimes it reminds you of that, even though it’s one of the most charming corners in Seattle. My room was clean, and special outlets had been installed for modern electronics, but it was rather an ergonomic disaster. The floors were uneven. It had insufficient light. There was a bulky floor AC unit with a hose to the window. The bathroom was cramped, and the TP holder was positioned so you could be sure the roll wound up on the floor. A notice from the hotel assured me that updates are in the works. In the cafe for breakfast, I found yogurt with fresh berries and granola, which was terrific. But the only decaf available was drip, which tasted truly awful and is rather a scandal in a town like Seattle.

Beautiful building! The staff were so kind and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and the location.

Amazing property with great design, excellent service and perfect location. Room service is always spot on. While the spa delivers a relaxing and rejuvenating experience, the gym allows you to stay on your health journey. Great stay…..a must visit.

It’s a lovely property however the quality of bed linens and mattress were not worthy of a 5 star hotel. The sheets felt like a stiff synthetic material and there were lumps on the mattress. Dinner at Shuckers was expensive but delicious with great service. Subtracted a star for the bed linens and mattress, needs improvement.
