Visible truss, mud walls with earth tones of natural pigments, antique furniture with exquisite detailing and hand-painted Art pictures by the owner give a special feeling of warmth and comfort - cottage idyll. You can enjoy the great view of the lake sitting in an comfortable armchair with the Swiss lakeside in the background, cook a nice meal in our high equipped quality kitchen or simply enjoy a glass of wine on the terrace in the evening sun. Our cottage is located on the beautiful peninsula of the Höri at the Untersee. The Höri impresses with the perfect blend of art, culture and nature with spectacular views over the lake towards the Swiss mountains or Reichenau. There are endless opportunities for relaxation and excursions. Directly outside the house is the Constance Cycle Path or a small beach just 150 meters away, ideal for swimming and games. In the neighboring village you can also rent a small boat or canoe and spend a few hours on the lake. Ferries and excursionboats go on a regular basis to Reichenau, Konstanz or Schaffhausen, they also offer day trips to the island Meinau, Konstanz or Überlingen. The pretty town of Stein am Rhein with its painted facades is certainly worth a visit. Above the house, the Schienerberg extends with its great hiking paradise. The largest waterfall in Europe in Schaffhausen can be reached in just 20 minutes. The ruins Hohentwiel in Hegau, one of the largest fortress ruins in Germany is with children always an experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our week here. The house is located on a beautiful street (really, it's amazing), and there is a small beach within walking distance, should you wish to take an early morning or evening dip. The apartment itself is well furnished and decorated. I loved just sitting in the comfortable arm chair, admiring the view of the lake. Ohningen is near the Swiss border so be sure to visit Stein am Rhein and the Rhine Falls while you're there. Don't hesitate to ask the owners for suggestions about what to see and do in the area, should they happen to be on site during your stay. Wir haben die Woche dort sehr genossen, gerade auch deshalb, weil alles mit viel Liebe zum Detail dekoriert wurde. Die urige Wohnungen liegt im Dachgeschoss eines Fachwerkhaus. Der Empfang von Familie Botterell war sehr freundlich und man konnte sich bei Fragen und Problemen jederzeit melden. Die Unternehmungen, die man vor Ort auch mit Kindern machen kann, sind sehr vielfältig. Sie war sauber, hell, urgemütlich und geschmackvoll, bot uns aus vielen Fenstern einen wundervollen Ausblick auf den Bodensee und sogar eine kleine Spielzeugecke für die Kinder. Das Vermieterpaar ist sehr nett und jederzeit ansprechbar. Offenbar hängen tatsächlich Original-Gemälde des Gastgebers in der Wohnung - wirklich beeindruckend. Öhningen liegt recht nahe an der Schweizer Grenze und bietet eine tolle Umgebung; das schön angelegte Strandbad mit super Kulinarik ist nahe gelegen - wir waren rundum zufrieden mit unserem Aufenthalt. Tolle Lage fast direkt am See. ##### Markus S. ### 10/10 Excellent #### Manfred S. 17 Apr 2019 #### Hell, groß, komfortabel, ruhig Sie suchen Ruhe und Raum in einer (fast) authentischen Umgebung mit Blick auf den Untersee aus fast allen Fenstern, eine komplett ausgestattete Küche (reicht auch für einen Hobbykoch, wie mich) - dann zögern Sie nicht, diese Wohnung im Dachgeschoss zu mieten - es sei denn, Sie sind fußkrank oder leiden unter Atemnot: Der Weg über den Garten und die "Hintertreppe" in die Wohnung ist dann etwas mühsam, und die ziemlich steile Treppe vom Wohnbereich (mit "Salon", Küche, Bad und einem von 3 Schlafzimmern) zu den beiden anderen Schlafräumen unter dem Giebel ist für Leute über 80 eine sportliche Herausforderung, die meine Frau und ich aber tapfer bestanden haben. Nicht zu unterschätzen - vor allem in der Hochsaison: Sie haben einen sicheren Parkplatz direkt am Haus. Wenn wir wieder einmal die Bodensee-Region heimsuchen wollen, dann ist dieses Haus unsere erste Adresse ! ##### Manfred S. Gerne sind wir nach unseren Ausflügen in die gemütliche, sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtete Dachwohnung zurückgekehrt. Es hat an nichts gefehlt. The village is next to the lake and you can walk down and have a swim. If you like open water swimming the lake is great. Cycling for all abilities is easy as they have separated cycle lanes for nearly all roads. There's plenty to see locally we went to the Rhine falls and I would strongly recommend the local town Stein am Rhein. The hosts were very helpful and were able to recommend shops/restaurants.
