Welcome to the Gletschergarten—your stylish retreat in Oberaudorf. Our lovingly and tastefully renovated holiday apartment is located in a charming 1960s house that has been modernised with great attention to detail. The result is a cosy apartment for two people (plus a toddler) that combines modern living with the house’s unique charm. Spanning approximately 25 m², the apartment offers everything you need for a relaxing stay: a fully equipped kitchen, a cosy living and sleeping area, and a separate bathroom. The apartment also features a spacious outdoor seating area with a view of the surrounding greenery. Here, you can enjoy breakfast in the morning sun, relaxing afternoons, or balmy summer evenings in a peaceful atmosphere—surrounded by nature and with the mountains of the Inn Valley right before your eyes. The name “Gletschergarten” pays homage to the history of this region. During the last ice ages, the mighty Inn Glacier forced its way between the Wildbarren and Kranzhorn, shaping the Inn Valley in the process. Today, you can enjoy the view of this impressive Alpine gateway—the former Inn Valley Glacier—right from the outdoor seating area; it is precisely this unique natural history that inspired the name of our holiday rental, “Gletschergarten.” Holiday in Oberaudorf Nestled between the Kaiser Mountains, the Wendelstein, and the Inn Valley, Oberaudorf is one of the most beautiful holiday destinations in the Bavarian Alpine foothills. Numerous hiking and biking trails begin right at your doorstep, and in winter, ski slopes, cross-country trails, and winter hiking trails await you. On warm summer days, Lake Luegstein, Lake Sillei, Lake Hechtsee, and many others invite you to take a refreshing dip. Whether you’re swimming, stand-up paddling, wakeboarding, or simply soaking up the sun—each lake has its own charm. Oberaudorf also has a lot to offer in terms of cuisine. Numerous restaurants, cafés, and traditional Bavarian taverns are within easy walking distance of the holiday rental and will treat you to regional specialities as well as international cuisine. Oberaudorf also delights culturally with a varied programme of events. Bavarian music evenings, spa concerts, village festivals, folk evenings, and traditional events ensure authentic holiday moments and let you experience Bavarian hospitality up close. The Gletschergarten is a lovingly designed retreat for anyone who appreciates design, quality, and comfort. The approximately 25 m² apartment was designed with great attention to detail. Custom-built furniture crafted from sustainable materials, high-quality herringbone parquet flooring, exceptional architecture, an open-concept layout, and underfloor heating create a bright, modern, yet cosy atmosphere. The spacious window front lets in plenty of natural light, while a well-designed shading and blackout system ensures privacy and a restful night’s sleep at all times. Thanks to the controlled ventilation system, the holiday apartment is also particularly well-suited for people with allergies. You’ll enjoy restful nights in the high-quality box-spring double bed. For families, we’re happy to provide a cot and a high chair upon request. The fully equipped kitchen offers everything you need for a relaxing stay—including a De’Longhi fully automatic coffee machine (coffee included), dishwasher, microwave, electric kettle, and toaster. The modern bathroom features a pleasant, relaxing shower with various spray settings. A special highlight is the approximately 10 m² outdoor seating area with a cosy lounge, large umbrella, and Weber gas grill. Thanks to the separate entrance, you can enjoy your privacy and relaxing moments surrounded by nature—whether it’s breakfast, a barbecue, or a glass of wine in the evening. Of course, you’ll also have access to high-speed Wi-Fi, a smart TV, a free parking spot with an electric charging station, and numerous other amenities to ensure a thoroughly relaxing stay.
Numerous hiking and biking trails begin right at your doorstep. Popular destinations such as the Kranzhorn, the Brünnstein (Oberaudorf’s local mountain), the Wildbarren, the Spitzstein, the Gießenbachklamm, or the Kaiseraufstieg with its rustic alpine huts are all within easy reach. From the peaks, you can enjoy breathtaking views all the way to the Großglockner and Großvenediger. To cool off, visit the Luegsteinsee with its large water slide, as well as the idyllic forest lakes Hechtsee, Sillei, and Tiersee. Those seeking peace and quiet will find it at numerous hidden mountain streams and the small pools along the Auerbach. We are Nadine and Daniel—a young family with two children—and we look forward to welcoming you here. With a lot of love, time, and our own hard work, we’ve completely renovated our 1960s house and transformed the Gletschergarten into a place where you’ll feel right at home from the very first moment. We live in Oberaudorf ourselves and love sharing our enthusiasm for the region with our guests. Whether it’s hikes, swimming lakes, restaurants, or special places to visit—we’ll share our personal favourite spots and insider tips with you. Sports, nature, and Bavarian culture shape our lives: Nadine was a competitive wakeboarder for many years and has even helped a guest or two get on the board herself. Daniel is an avid climber and knows the most beautiful climbing areas in the region. As a private pilot, he’s happy to take guests on a unique and breathtaking scenic flight over the Alps for a small fee.
