Pros- We loved the location; quiet and quick walk to the beach. The layout of the house was perfect for us. Cons- Cleanliness. Upon arrival, we found multiple hairs in the shower, dried on food residue on the dining room table and chairs, many dishes were put away wet and had to be rewashed, the Keurig had sitting water and smelled terrible, and trash was found in two bedrooms including a half full water bottle on the window sill. The floors and walls could really use a deep clean or at least wipe down. Additionally, there was significant trash outside by the driveway and under the steps, including cigarette butts and an old cracked cell phone. The dining room only had 5 chairs- not the 6 shown in the pictures. Which meant one of us was always standing during family meals. The towels folded into swans were a nice touch, but I would rather have seen the time put into actually cleaning. I did reach out to the host and sent pictures right away. The host asked if there was anything specific I wanted the cleaners to come do, but there was no apology for the house's condition. At that point, I had already wiped down everything and taken care of it so we could be more comfortable. We had driven 12 hours and just wanted to settle in- not have to wait for cleaners to come back. The place has so much potential and I hate having to leave a mid tier review. I have stayed in many rentals and this one just was not cleaned to a reasonable standard and really set a poor tone for us.
