We had a lovely experience. Using the shuttle bus is crucial as a taxi would be expensive due to the distance. We had a fancy dinner they offer; very beautifully presented but you need to love Japanese food; lots of raw fish. Oddly, coffee with the breakfast was an additional charge. Overall, we really loved our stay.

For an authentic traditional ryokan experience in the Japanese tradition of "omotenashi," Kanazawa Chaya is where you will find it. From the time we arrived until we departed, the staff was fully attentive and accommodating. The multi-course kaiseki meals at dinner and for breakfast were delicious and something to look forward to each day of our stay. Conveniently located, it is a 10 minute walk from Kanazawa Station and an easy and interesting walk to Omicho Market and the Higashichaya neighborhood. Very limited number of rooms available so its important to secure your reservation early. Would definitely stay there again.
