There was only a smoking room available to book but it did not smell too strongly of smoke. There is an onsen bath on the basement floor but we didn’t use it. The hotel was advertised as having shared bathrooms but we actually had our own private bathroom in our room, which was great! The location was super convenient- close to the bus station and the lake. The onsen hot springs are hidden away in the basement and is extremely tiny and not an overall fun place to relax. The included dinner was average but it felt more like I was being served dinner at a friend's house than at a ryokan. You have to lay out your own futon as it's self-service which was a bit odd.
