You could make coffee/tea whenever and there was a shared fridge, microwave etc. You could also take a bath in a traditional japanese hot spring bath which was amazing! We had a japanese style room which was so cute but the futon bed was a bit uncomfortable for us. The area is so beautiful, and it was convenient to all the Nikko attractions (we had a rental car). The property was adorably retro (but comfortable), the staff was delightful, and the on-site onsen are private. We are heavily tattooed, and finding an onsen that allows us in is not easy. We appreciate that it was not a problem!!
