(None of us ate much breakfast the next morning.) The hotel building is a bit aged, but very nice inside and well-maintained. The staff was helpful, and the young woman who served us at dinner was very professional (each group had their own server). 3 mins. walk from the hotel was a stairway down to the adjacent river, as good a nature get-away as you're likely to ask for. Service was perfect +: the surrounding location is great. Too bad it's becoming desert and the quality is fading away. +: I recommend to visit the nice 'World Tobu Square' not so far away by car. -: after experiencing many ryokan now, this one was the worst in terms of price/quality: very highly priced with a very poor quality of meals. It was around $100/ person for the food but the quality of the dinner was worth $12 and tasted so bad and was very common like a meal you'd have in a common restaurant. Meals were a complete joke.
