The hotel is housed in a gorgeous building with easy safe access. The a/c in the room worked well which was a relief in the heat (none in the small common areas, ie breakfast room). I had missed that this was a dog friendly hotel (and yes, the dog who "lives" there is adorable and friendly). Gilles is well-spoken and informed and was very helpful and available to whatever questions, directions I needed. The close access to the rocky beach was a plus and the location in general was quite wonderful for someone who likes to walk.

Very old property with just 7 rooms , great location for water front and train station. The owner runs the reception and is super helpful . Great for short stay , I would say for 5 days or less very adequate and budget friendly compared to the mega expensive hotels on the waterfront.

The owner/ proprietor, Gilles was charming. Breakfast good. He has an ice machine. There is air-conditioning but French doors were open in the room when we arrived without screens. Though we closed them right away, we got bitten while asleep. The rooms are all on ground level and incredibly noisy.

Gillis and Marius were 5+. Location could not have been better. Easy to old town, the beach and restaurants. Included breakfast was just right to start the day. Vert quiet, clean room with good A/C. If you want a charming boutique hotel...Victor Hugo is it! PS...Marius is a dog and official greeter! He made us feel welcome every morning!

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for two nights before we picked up a cruise in Monaco. We were very pleased with our stay. The air-conditioning worked beautifully. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. The room was larger than most European hotel rooms. Very centrally located as well. Beautiful area would stay there again.

Lovely hotel close to the beach and the city centre with shops and restaurants. Clean and comfy room with a comfortable bed and a nice good working shower. Good and tasty breakfast, but the best thing about this hotel is the wonderful manager Gilles and his sweet dog Marius.
