The Great Western Hotel is an older building which I understand is shortly to undergo some sort of refurbishment. We received a good standard of service. Staff were pleasant and unfailingly helpful. Breakfasts were freshly cooked and of good quality.

What a lovely hotel to stay at. The location is amazing. With beautiful views of the sea/beach. The room was clean and comfortable with plenty of dining options if you didn’t fancy eating at the restaurant on site (but the menu was really good). Will definitely be back soon

The hotel was pretty good in general. Room was fine: very clean. Slightly old-school grandparent vibe instead of funky Newquay surfer vibe, and some of the fittings were slightly run down if you looked closely, but that's being really critical. Breakfast was excellent with unusually good veggie choices. Staff were helpful. The beach location was dramatic. It was quite pricey but I suppose that's the cost when staying in Newquay last minute during school holidays.

I had booked a king bed The room we were given was very small. I went to reception and was told I was given an upgrade because the room I was in had been renovated and there were no king beds available. The bed felt even smaller than a standard double bed. There was no where to put any clothes except a few coat hangers so we had to live out of our suitcases. My husband has arthritis and struggled to get dressed due to the lack of space. The room was clean. Faced on to the main road which could get very noisy at times.

Property is in need of renovation (parts currently underway) but still a very enjoyable stay. Fantastic location with excellent views from dining rooms and bar overlooking the ocean. Staff are excellent and do all they can to assist.

We had a room facing the road, I expected a lot of noise late at night but was suprise how quiet it was. The room was a nice size with comfortable beds and was well furnished, the bathroom was also in good order and modern. Breakfast had plenty of choice, only I didn't like the bacon (personal preference) - it was baked and not fried I believe. Location was excellent with a lovely elevated view overlooking the sea/beach from the outside area of the bar/restaurant.
