Checked in New Year’s Eve, the bar and dining closed at 8pm! And there’s no room service either. It was not communicated to us during check in. We were hoping to stay at resort and have nice time but had to drive out to town for dinner. When we returned we asked front desk for more water guy said no! Didn’t offer to sell or call house keeping, offered no assistance. Will not return. One positive was the bathroom was clean.

Although it's a bit of a drive into downtown Newport, it's well worth the drive. The building, the rooms the staff were exceptional. Definitely coming back !

Such a great view…Comfort bed and super clean room…Front dest was super friendly. This place lookslike a dream…I figured out that they have wedding hall…I cant image how the wedding decoration and ceremony will be there….WOW WOW wedding place to. I wished I knew about this place sooner. Its a great honey moon spot to. Super chill and super gorgeous…

Definitely recommend
We knew going in that there might be a wedding on the night we stayed…and there might be late night noise, and there was some, but it wasn’t that bad. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Room and bed were comfortable. Grounds lovely. Especially enjoyed visiting with Allegra who hosted the continental breakfast the morning we left. She was a great personality she fun to talk to! Staff at front desk great too.

Beautiful property, landscaping and views. We stayed in room 11. Bed was hard as a rock and pillows we like cement blocks. Bar was closed due to wedding on property. There is no separate heating or AC in individual rooms so you can’t adjust room temp. Windows had no screens on them. Shower dripped water all night. The hotel is extremely loud and can every conversation outside the door. If you opened the window all the cigarette smoke from individuals smoking at the front entrance penetrated the small room and hallways in hotel. Rooms need upgrades and furniture is old. No refrigerator in room. There are so many beautiful hotels in Newport and unfortunately this in not one of them and we will not be returning. If you have small children I would avoid as all cost.

The only downside was the noise of the wedding celebration right out side the window. Wish they given us a quieter location. The big plus is the property and staff, but bring your own pillow or suffer the stiff neck consequence!

Disappointing at best
Unless you're here with an event, don't stay here. The only thing harder than the beds are the pillows. You can't control the room temperature so be prepared for wild swings between too hot and too cold. They don't dim the landscaping lights, so the room is lit up at 2 am like it's 2 pm. As soon as I booked my nonrefundable one night stay I received three separate emails - the restaurant is closed; there's a $75/guest fee; there are are no elevators and central heating/ air con only. They cater to events and upon arrival I had to sign a document confirming that I understood there would be a lot of noise that could go for all hours. This hotel - charming, old summer cottage character - felt like a bait and switch. Stay elsewhere.

I brought my girlfriend here for her birthday and she went into the bathroom upon arriving, and the door got stuck shut. Someone had to come open it and he left to come back with tools to fix the door. He proceeded to bang and make a huge mess and it was just entirely AWKWARD. We had hoped to get ready and go to dinner but with him in the room we obviously couldn’t do that. We went to discuss this with the front desk and at first we’re told there was nothing they could do. The manager came out and offered to move our room. We were very thankful. We got ready, went out and we’re back around 10. For an hour and a half following our arrival the music and bass from the wedding going on downstairs was so disruptive I had to turn my tv up to 79. We overall had a terrible experience for it being out first time to RI and spending the $600 for one night. Just outrageous.

The location is great. There was a wedding going on. So it’s quite noisy at night. We went to the on-site restaurant and found out it’s closed to guests. The room was clean but small and a bit outdated.

Beautiful hotel, nice views, spacious room, very small bathroom and old, show water flow was small. Free parking was good, restaurant didn't open, very simple continental breakfast, but easy to drive to waterfront.

Very disappointed in room. Located at the end of a very distant hallway next to a fire exit that was always open and could easily be accessed from the outside of the building. A potentially dangerous situation. Hotel’s dirty linen was staged outside the door to the room and in front of the emergency exit. Not very appealing and probably a safety violation Furnishings were old and ordinary. Very few electrical outlets. Windows would not stay open. Temperature could only be controlled by front desk personnel. Overall, a disappointing stay.
