Just a 40-minute drive or a 30-minute train ride away from the Newburyport train station, it’s a great spot for exploring the town’s rich history, folklore, and unique shops. After a day of sightseeing, you can unwind at our comfortable beach retreat—ideal for recharging and enjoying the coast. Whether you're visiting Salem or simply looking for a quiet place by the water, our home offers the best of both worlds. Furthermore, there is parking available for 4 cars for those busy weekends and hosting large groups. A small dedicated workspace equipped with computer monitor, keyboard, mouse & universal adapter for your laptop makes this a great work from home "staycation" option! Free high speed internet with smart TV provided. Basic local channels available though antenna or Roku Apps. There is no cable television at the apartment. Complimentary premium streaming provided through the Peacock TV app on the Roku television. You are also welcome to login to your Netflix, Amazon Prime or Hulu accounts. This vacation rental is located on the second floor -- it's one of two units on property. The welcoming owners live next door and are available for any questions throughout your stay. Located on the southern bank of the Merrimack River where it empties into the Atlantic Ocean, downtown Newburyport is quaint, picturesque, walkable and has many top-rated restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. We recommend The Grog for pub food, Michael's Harborside for seafood on their open-air deck, The Poynt for small plates and cocktails and The DECK for casual waterfront dining and drinks. Please let us know if you will be bringing any pets at the time of booking. The max # of pets allowed is 2 and must be listed on your booking. Loved plum island and nearby Newberryport. Multiple day trips shopping and nearby golf courses. The rental is a short walk to the sunset club. No car needed to access this busy hangout for a drink/ watch the sunset. The house could use a restock of hand towels and kitchen towels( only 1 each provided) and a refresh of shower liner and I’m sure an update to the bathroom is on the owners list to match the rest of the unit updates. Maybe an outdoor shower? There were 4 adults in our party, no children. You may want to be cautious of children/ grandchildren staying here because of on going renovations and location. ##### William S. We visited Plum Island for a long weekend birdwatching excursion. This was the perfect spot. We travelled with our cat for the first time, and considering how cats can be, he warmed up to the space right away. Michael sent all the information we needed for our stay, prior to our arrival. Easy in, easy out. The couch is soo comfortable in the living room! Kitchen was stocked with all the utensils and gadgets one would need to prepare meals easily. The bed was comfortable and it was easy to control the temperature of the unit. It was quiet and although there were other homes nearby, it still felt private due to the dunes in the back yard ( also not peak season ). The brilliant colors of the sunrise and sunsets were visible from inside the house and just a few steps out the front door were unobstructed views of the sunset. Bonus for those inflicted with celiac disease, the restaurant 400 feet away had gluten free buns and a kick ass burger. Everything we needed was in this space and we didn’t need to contact Michael for anything while we’re there. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! ##### Nicole N. It was for my son's wedding so he worked hard to get us in early to get ready. The place was great. We all enjoyed our stay. There’s plenty to do in the area from shopping, sightseeing to restaurants. You could choose to stay in and enjoy a Bonfire or just relax on the porch watching the moon rise from the deck while BBQ’ing. Awesome Plum Island retreat! ##### Karin S. We didn't feel at all boxed in by other houses (which one can feel on Plum Island). Very responsive owner, who provided excellent info about what to expect. It is not upscale (as photos can suggest), but clean and adequately supplied. We came off-season. Be aware that restaurants have very limited hours and possibly provisions. I'm not sure how one accesses the main beach if one wanted to swim, but I am sure there is access. (This is some ways to the beach.) The owner was very accommodating as to check in date (less than a full week). Plum Island was beautiful. The property is close to beach, sightseeing/hiking and restaurants but still quiet and spacious. Dog was happy walking the back roads. House was comfortable. Good kitchen, but pots and pans could have been cleaner coming in. Mattresses are probably ready for replacement next season. But, all in all, a lovely place to spend a week. And Plum Island is certainly worth a second visit. ##### Robert G. The house was clean and about a 10 minute walk to the beach. The only items missing that I had expected were face clothes and beach towels.
