Property had everything we needed for our 4 day trip. When we walked into the entrance we where hit with an awful smell! Thankfully the entrance was separated by another door into the house. We think it was mold or musty coming from the basement. Good size kitchen and living room. Beds where not the greatest. The location for us was good for our adventures.

Great location.
The property was exactly as presented on the vrbo site. Perfect jumping off spot for exploring Cape Breton. Wonderful property for dogs with free running space and enclosures. Well equipped kitchen. The pillows could use an upgrade.

Wonderful stay in Cape Breton!
The cottage was clean and had everything we needed for the time we were there. Any questions we had were promptly answered by Kim. Our 3 girls (ages 8, 6, 9 months) all had a blast exploring Cape Breton!

Perfect for Cabot trail and area
The location was perfect for the activities we had planned being close to Cabot Trail and Fort Louisbourge. We were comfy in the cottage and were provided with all that we needed. Any questions we had were answered very quickly. One thing we wished was that there was a beach or water within walking distance but it was a short drive away. Lovely

We really enjoyed our stay here for 5 days. It was the perfect central location for travelling all the trails around Cape Breton Island. Kim was very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to anyone coming to Cape Breton for a vacation.

Kim was very easy to communicate with and answered quickly. The rental was clean, comfortable and cozy. Everything you could need was provided. If you desire privacy this is the place to be. Close to the Cabot Trail.

Great host, very responsive. The property is at a great location for visiting the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. It is just a short drive from the Cabot Trail Rd. Very quiet, with a great view, and very clean.

Perfect Getaway
Kim’s property on Kelly’s Mountain was the perfect retreat for us and our dogs.. The cottage has all on the amenities a traveller could need and the location was perfect for visiting the Cabot Trail and also heading east to Sydney, Glace Bay & the Fortress at Louisburg. Kim was a great host and very quick to respond to all questions. Do not hesitate to stay here and be sure to attend the Ceilidh at the Gaelic College.

Wonderful cottage in Cape Breton very close to the Cabot Trail! Everything we needed was available and we highly recommend this rental if you need a place for exploring Cape Breton! Easy check in and owner was always available to answer questions.

Great cottage and location!
Cottage is well appointed and clean and has everything you need. The large property makes for a peaceful stay. It is well situated to the Cabot Trail and Baddeck (~ 20km away) and to grocery/NSLC/Walmart (~30km). Excellent communication with owner (Kim). We would definitely stay here again!

A perfect spot for a quiet getaway!
We were looking for as scenic private spot and we would have been hard-pressed to do better! Set back from a quiet road but near the Miami road TCH. We were happily snowed in . Having all we needed we just hunkered down and enjoyed the day!

We loved this very private, central location for doing the Cabot Trail. Pet friendly and great spot for them. Cottage was amazingly pointed, everything you need and then some!! Very clean as well! We would definitely go back!!

If you are looking for great place in Cape Breton that is central to see everything... This cottage is great. Lots of privacy. Close to a lot of great restaurants and close to all the things to see in Cape Breton. We enjoyed our stay. We have nothing negative to say about this cottage or the owners. We will definitely rent this for our next Cape Breton adventure.

Secluded stay near Bras D’Or lakes
Ideal property for those seeking a quiet, large, and dog friendly property, a short drive to St. Anns, and Baddeck. The home is well appointed with tv, wifi, excellent kitchen, and comfortable beds. One room is bunk beds, not ideal for two couples, but certainly doable, as we did. Also is near a swimmable beach along the same dirt road the house is on. Would recommend.

Winter wonderland!
We had an absolute ball at this property, and can’t wait to go back. We were there in a snowstorm, but had so many things to do out in the woods and on the property that we didn’t even need to leave. Highlight was skiing on the driveway while waiting for the plow! Our little puppy had a great time too. Wonderful experience, and we can’t wait to get back.

My partner and I spent a few days there with our dog in October. The big property is well away from any neighbours and is great if you have a canine companion. The beach is a short drive down the end of the road and it is reasonably close to North Sydney in one direction and Baddeck in the other. We didn't see our host due to covid but she was very attentive to our needs and was easy to get a hold of.

Perfect Location
We had an incredible stay, in a beautiful cottage. The views, especially in the morning, were breathtaking. You could spend the entire day on the back deck just admiring Bras d'Or Lake. The property was turn key and exceptionally well equipped; we wanted for nothing. There was even a large, fenced area to exercise our dog. We spent four nights at the cottage on Kelly’s Mountain. The property provided 2 bedrooms and an open concept kitchen living room. We enjoyed the view from the deck and spent four evenings sitting out in the screen house where we saw deer and rabbits. The cottage is spotlessly clean and so very well equipped. The wifi was crisp and the satellite tv worked well. There is a large outdoor pen to accommodate your dog, something that is extremely difficult to find. I recommend the property and hope to stay there again soon.

A perfect home base to explore eastern Cape Breton
With its close location to the 105 this was a good place to start our exploration of eastern Cape Breton. The house is very well appointed with everything you need after a long day on the trails. We had an unusual couple days of warm weather so having A/C was a plus. Kim, the property owner, was a joy to work with.

Very well appointed home. Interior feels like a modern house with all the amenities. Nice location overlooking the Bras d'Or Lakes with very quick access to Highway 104. Good, central location and easy to get to all Island attractions rom here. Highly recommended.

We were very pleased with this cottage rental. It was as advertised on Homeaway, and had everything we needed. It was very clean and well stocked. The location was amazing and allowed us to visit relatives in Glace Bay and to tour part of the Cabot Trail. We loved walking around the property and enjoyed watching the eagles sitting in the trees and soaring overhead. Being able to have a campfire our first night there was amazing as well, as we love the outdoors. Wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks for everything Kim.

The inside of the house is even nicer than pics. Updated and not cluttered inside Good location for seeing Cape Breton. House is in a lovely and private spot. If we are ever in the area again we would definitely stay there again. Saw a fox at the end of the road that was happy to pose for pictures

I can't say enough about Kim and her vacation rental. After our accommodations fell through at the last minute, Kim was ready for our arrival in just 2hrs. Our home away from home was cozy and comfortable with a wonderful view of the water. The kitchen was very well equipped and had everything that we needed. We enjoyed exploring the property and loved the little creek that runs through it. As we were spending Christmas there, Kim even brought us a tree for the kids to decorate. We loved the location of the property which was very central to where we needed to go. We highly recommend staying here and I know we will be booking this home again the next time we are in the area.

Perfectly located Cape Breton getaway!
Can not say enough about Kim and her house! If you are looking to explore cape Breton and have a dog this cottage is a must! Full kitchen, two bedroom house with a good size living room and dining area. The yard with a view of the lake was spectacular along with the fenced in dog run was a great perk. We spent our nights by the fire pit star gazing and actually spotting a shooting star! This house is centrally located on cape Breton and was perfect to daytrip out of. Cheticamp for the slyline trail was an hour and 20 mins away, louisbourg fortress an hour, baddeck was 30 mins as well as Sydney 35 mins away. Kim was amazing and even quickly replaced our TV after a power outage damaged the existing one. Great stay, and highly reccomend if you have a dog!

THANK YOU, Kim! Our stay was superb. This is the perfect place to stay for couples(ideal for honeymoon), young and old. Families with kids (any age), and dogs. The cottage is ideally located between the park and town, right off the road (easy access) but private enough, so you do not see or hear the road. Beautiful view of the river and mountains with the little picturesque private pond it is truly place from the fairytale. The cottage has a homey feel, not a typical rental.Kim thought about everything! I’m not even sure where to start. Kitchen is equipped for the people of all tastes, skills and wishes (it even has a drinking water tank). You can enjoy your meal or coffee indoors or out on the porch with the wonderful view. Bedrooms, bathroom and the whole place are clean and have everything. You feel really taken care of the minute you step in the home. Even your dog will be happy enjoying the special fenced enclosure outside, large enough for a big dogs to feel like a royalty. Kim is an example of the ideal host. Wonderful cottage in the perfect location for peace and quiet whilst exploring Cape Bretton.
We explored the Cabot Trail of course, but also much of Cape Bretton which was easy to do from this location. Good restaurants nearby and in Sydney. The cottage has everything you could wish for and Kim is helpful and quick to respond to any questions.

A lovely Stay!
Kim's lovely, comfortable cottage was all you could ask for and more! Very clean! and well-equipped with everything you could possibly need! The kitchen was a delight to cook in, ( Kim has supplied good quality cookware and such, which is often neglected in rentals) and along with other extra special touches, made this one of our best stays ever! We had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with Kim, her wildlife photography of the immediate area is excellent! Thank you for sharing that with us Kim, along with your special stories about Maggie! Kim is a super host, quick to respond, and always helpful!
