We couldn't have found a more perfect house for our family. Well appointed, very clean, everything you could ask for & did I mention it is on a beautiful river? Great stay on the river
What a great place! The porch, sunroom, and layout of the house was great. There were 5 of us and we had plenty of room. Fun time fishing and floating the river with the kayaks! Just remember… you have to bring the kayaks back up the hill! Love this place and hope to stay again!

Beautiful spot on the River!
Our group of two couples rented this home with the intent of doing some fly fishing on the Guadelupe, but we were under-equipped for the cold weather. So instead we explored Canyon Lake Gorge, Canyon Lake dam, enjoyed some local restaurants and stayed warm with several fires in the fireplace. Really nice location on the River & great enclosed porch allows you to feel like you're outside - even when it's cold. Would stay here again!

Beautiful location, easy to get to.
The location of this property is amazing and it is easy to get to a store if you forgot something. The constant sound of the river flow is so relaxing. We really enjoyed watching/seeing ducks, hawks, and deer. The bedrooms are small but you are only there to sleep, the rest of your time is spent experiencing the beauty outside.

We loved our stay! Everything about this place was enjoyable! Beds are comfortable. Waterfall sound is relaxing. Our kids (5 &8) loved the water access and braved tubing in 60’ water temperatures.

Relaxing Family Stay
The sunroom, the furnished outdoor deck, stone patio, and swing — all located next to the soothing sounds of the waterfall/rapid area on the Guadalupe River —provided a relaxing stay for our family. Watching the full moon rise under the party lights strung amidst the huge trees was a fantastic setting for family time. Absolutely beautiful!

Perfect spot
We loved everything about this place. The location is perfect. We had a blast watching the tubers go by and kayaking up and down the river. The porches are the best part. Very relaxing and cool under the trees. We will definitely be back.

Ladies Relaxing Getaway
The house was everything it advertises as and more. A/c ran great as needed (very important to us). Deck/patio awesome for coffee and cocktails everyday with a view and some entertainment:). Quiet relaxing area which is what we wanted. The new railing going down steps definitely an asset. We loved our getaway !

Updated House on Prime Location of Guadalupe River
This is a great spot to tube and kayak the Guadalupe. The water level is so low right now that we were literally floating up the river with the wind, so instead taking our group down the river we just floated in front of the house all day. This home has great views, beautiful trees, great sitting area platform with propane firepit. Loved the new sunroom with huge windows as well as rocking chairs on the deck. Very well equipped, even kayak and tubes to use. Only thing that we didn't love was the very small kitchen prep area - only holds 1-2 people.

Amazing!
We stayed here for a family getaway and couldn’t be happier. The location is great, easy access to anything we wanted to do. Honestly we loved the porch and river location so much that we ended up spending so much of our time there. The cool breeze off the water makes it wonderful for drinking your coffee and relaxing, and the access to the river was fabulous. The house had tubes and chairs to make our stay even better. We would definitely recommend.

Awesome place!
Love the location and the distance to the concert venue! We enjoyed using the kayaks, but the only down fall was the weight of the kayaks and it was a hassel getting them back up (especially the double one). Enjoyed watching the other tubers floating and having our own river access. We will definitely be back!!

The house is amazing. Owners thought of everything you need for comfort, cooking and socializing. Since we are all 70 years of age, gaining access to river was treacherous due to steep undersized steps and no rails for balance and something to grab onto to get out of river. We attempted once but decided to do a day spot at River Road Camp ground instead. I'm sure this is ok for younger folks, just not for old folks like us. However, we really enjoyed our stay.

For those who need a little extra help navigating the steps, we have now built and installed new hand railings on the stone steps down to the patio as well as the steps from the patio to the river! I have included a couple of photos of the new railings toward the end of our photo reel. Sharon, sorry they weren’t there in time for your visit, but they are there for your use next time!

Absolutely the best weekend trip we have ever done. The house was nice and accommodating for us and listening to water as it broke over was so calming & relaxing. The owners have a great house and probably one of the best river front properties on the Guadalupe. It was my wife’s birthday weekend and since her family lives in the area I had them come over for fajita’s on the patio and they we’re blown away with the house, location, and the outdoor areas. So I know it was not just me that loved the house. I was the only one that got in water, because everyone said it was too cold. But the memories of my 20’s and floating the river kept me warm….lol. If you enjoy peace & relaxation along with sounds of flowing water DO NOT PASS ON THIS OPPORTUNITY, also it is a dog friendly rental. To be honest I would have extended this trip a few days had I had the time.

Good relaxing place
This is a good, quiet place facing the river. Ideal for family get togethers. House is decent, comes with kayaks which is cool. Food options nearby are limited but decent. Cons for us were lack of pest control (cockroaches), neighboring houses are very close and in our case we happened to have some very annoying neighboring renters who thought it was okay to have their 3 dogs off leash, access steps to river are super steep, and not the most important but having been to several other such waterfront houses in Texas we thought this was a bit too pricey. But we enjoyed our stay regardless and had a relaxing weekend away from work.

We have a really good pest control service that comes out regularly and we have used them for years, so it is very rare to have these uninvited guests in our house. I did call for an extra spray just in case. If there is ever a problem with a neighbor, please let us know. We know all of our neighbors well and are happy to give them a call when needed. Roaming dogs isn’t usually the norm. We have ample space between houses (I have an empty lot on one side of the house) and usually our neighbors and their guests are thoughtful and polite. Ironically, I was just talking with my handyman this week about a railing and he is going to install one soon. The steps are fine for most but a railing will provide some extra support. I have a guide in the house (and I email it to guests ahead of time too for early planners) that I created for tips on our favorite local restaurants as well as some of our favorites among the many options in Gruene and New Braunfels nearby.

This home was just as advertised. The beds were comfortable. The view of the river is wonderful. There are rapids on the river so you can hear the water flowing. It is close to restaurants and stores. Great location.

Great Spot- Will Visit Again!
Unbeatable location on the river! We came for a half day float trip and picked this house so we could continue the fishing back at home. This was the perfect spot. Easy access to the river right from the backyard and there were other fishermen that were fun to watch from the sunroom. We had our 3 year old with us and he had a blast. He stayed in a pack n play in the sunroom which was temp regulated and perfect for separation. A great, relaxing weekend that we want to duplicate in the future. Thanks to our host Chris for a wonderful time.

Stayed over Thanksgiving holidays. The house was the right size for four adults and our dog. The kitchen is well stocked. Has several sitting areas in house. Nice deck and other gathering areas close to the river. Has excellent access to the river and prime fishing location. Overall location was great with easy hour to hour and a half drive to several other hill country towns such as Dripping Springs, Boerne, Wimberley, and Johnson City

We brought our dog with to enjoy some time to just enjoy nature. This was the perfect place for us. Beautiful views and the ever-present sound off the river spilling over the great divide… it was perfect for us to feel away from it all while having tasty coffee and tacos nearby in town.

The property is exact as advertised. Very clean, well stocked kitchen, plenty of towels. The view of the River is awesome. The sound of the rushing water is so relaxing. We especially enjoyed the Sunroom. We saw a couple of fish, but no luck catching any. Lots of wildlife to watch. We saw ducks, deer, turkeys, and different species of birds. Great location to visit many places around the area. Lots of great dining not too far away. The only complaint I have is the beds were too soft. But I’m sure many people enjoy a soft bed. We enjoyed being able to bring our dogs with us. Thank you, Chris and Amanda.

Fantastic Guadalupe River Getaway
This house and its location are incredible! Steps from the beautiful Guadalupe River, the views are amazing. The house is located just a quick drive from Sattler where there are plenty of grocery/shopping options. It's on a nice, quiet residential road and the privacy level was great. The house itself was very clean and well supplied. The sunroom is where we spent most of our time. The sliding back doors have a screen where we enjoyed the sound of the river below. The view of the river is top notch and we saw several deer across the river in the evening. The owner was very kind and communicated well. The house has plenty of instructions provided by the owner to make sure you don't have any issues making yourself at home. Overall, we were very satisfied with the stay and would love to visit again! (P.S. - the owner has a binder with lots of info/recommendations for the area. Do NOT miss the opportunity to eat at Gennaro's Trattoria - a 10 min drive to the west in Startzville - it was incredible! Thank you to the owners for the recommendation!)

Birthday get away
We celebrated our 60th and 61st birthday the week we stayed here. This property is absolutely wonderful! It was nice relaxing and getting away from our stressful jobs. The highlight of the trip was not only visiting the area state parks but coming "home" to this wonderful retreat and seeing the full moon reflection off the river. That was a unforgettable beautiful image i won't soon forget. I recommend this place 5 stars!

Very Relaxing
If you are looking for a nice relaxing place, this is it. Large patio on rivers edge with plenty of seating and convenient propane firepit. Huge Cypress trees keep that hot sun off of you too. Home is well stocked and the layout is excellent with a gorgeous sunroom. We had a very nice stay and will definitely be returning.

Beautiful river front home
We enjoyed our time at this peaceful, riverfront retreat. I didn’t leave the house the entire time. Great bird watching, friendly neighbors, river was great for everyone (bring water shoes) our kids ages 10,12, 14 spent hours outside floating… we tied an anchor to our tubes and just hung out. Hubby n the kids took kayaks (provided) upstream and they saw really cool cliffs. It’s 3 miles from a great live concert venue Whitewater Raft Amphitheater. I’m actually looking at dates now so we can book this house again. Thank you for sharing your lovely home. Such a great location.

Omg this was one of the best experiences I had based on past reservations This is the best place I have stayed at. Property owners make sure you have all you need and awesome beds to sleep in. They have spices to foil paper and anything u can imagine needing. I will make be coming bck to this location in the future. If you trying to decide don’t over think it I guarantee an awesome stay at this place. This was our second year to stay at this house. We love the great location of the property. Super clean and that porch is great for morning coffee and evening drinks.
