Great in Gruene
One of my favorite places in Gruene. Comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and fantastic location. Wonderful breakfast and fun happy hour. Worth checking out!

Perfect Honeymoon Stay
I never sleep, ever, but had no issues getting a good nights rest with their cozy beds and pillows. The views were stunning, fireplace in the room was amazing. Breakfast in the mornings was delicious! Loved being able to walk everywhere in Gruene. There is free Pacman! We loved getting to know the kind staff members. Everything was just perfect and we cant wait to return!

High end property in Gruene centre, with beautiful decor and grounds. Themed bedrooms are charming and fun. Staff exceptionally helpful and thoughtful, as was the owner. I look forward to a return one day.

Absolutely beautiful property located on the river and steps away from Gruene Hall. Our room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the complimentary late afternoon beer, wine, and snacks along with the morning breakfast which was outstanding. Great game room with large screen tv, shuffle board and pool table. Overall quiet property with so many amenities, something for everyone! Looking forward to our next visit!

The Gruene Hotel and Retreat was so lovely. I took my husband here for a 60th birthday get-a-way. We couldn’t ask for anything more. Everything was so perfect. We have talked so highly about this place to our friends since we have returned and we will be back soon.

The property at Gruene River Hotel and Retreat was amazing. We stayed in “The Perfect Swing” room and it was gorgeous. The bed was so comfortable, the room was very clean and we had a nice little private balcony. If you want to float the river, they have river access down a beautiful path behind the property. The staff was so friendly. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. Make this your next romantic getaway when you visit Gruene. We loved it and can’t wait to go back.

Beautiful facility ruined by loud guests. We were awoken by a woman screaming, not once, but three times at midnight outside in the pool area. Management seemed to condone this behavior as she was celebrating her birthday. There are several nearby bars and restaurants available for such events. Management needs to decide if they cater to couples wanting to get away for a quiet romantic trip or an event center for groups and reunions.

Great time in Gruene
Neat hotel right in Gruene. The room was big and comfortable. Nice deck, although it was too hot while we were there to enjoy it. The people were great. Good complementary wine in the afternoon. Great location right in Gruene - walkable to Gruene hall and all the dining and shopping around there.

River Access and Hot Tub
This is a really pretty property! The service was excellent. Just so you know there is quite a steep drop down to the river--125 stone steps--we thought it would be closer to the hotel. You can sit outside on their patio and look down at the river. Also the photo of the pool is a little deceiving in the photos--it is a hot tub which does no good on a 100 degree day! I think they should just turn it into a soaking pool for hot weather--we sure could have used it to cool off!

Relaxing Retreat for Wedding Anniversary.
Quaint little spot on the river. Loved our room with a balcony over looking the river. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was delicious, baked goods all day, lovely wine at Happy Hour. We would recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet spot to unwind.
