I have stayed at Oriental Cave Suites a few times and I will always return. The owner and his staff always make everyone feel welcome. The hotel has both traditional cave rooms and wooden rooms and of the three rooms I've stayed in over the years the beds are always good and the towels and linen clean. A simple breakfast comes with the stay and it's wonderful to sit on the terrace and watch the balloons in the morning. The owner will arrange any excursion at competitive prices and is so helpful in every way. He makes a barbque for guests periodically and the time is always warm and fun. Clean bathrooms and amenities and as this is an older property I do not mind the older fixtures. The best thing in the proximity to town. Close and yet removed enough that the street noise doesn't bother me. Sunset point is just a ten minute walk for mind blowing vistas. This cave hotel was welcomingly cool after walking around in the heat outside. But it got too cold for us at night. Fortunately, Chetin and his staff were very kind and turned on the radiator for us the second night, and we were able to sleep okay. Think rustic...no shower curtain, leaking sink, lopsided beds, creaking door, potholed floor, dark, but lots of character, with old rugs, robes, and decorations. Perfect location for exploring town on foot, cose to restaurants, shops, and conveniences. Sunset viewing point is just a 10 minute walk behind the hotel and some morning the balloons are just outside the window. The owner and Staff are very friendly and will go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and connect you to any excursion or Balloon trip. Breakfasts were simple and nice, linens clean, and water hot. For this reason, we didn't receive the room that I booked on Expedia, but no complaints as we were so grateful to be able to shower and have breakfast! The owner was super nice and very helpful. He booked a great day tour for us immediately with Insider Travel for 40 euro. We went to the cave village of Selime, had a beautiful hike through the Ihlara Valley followed by a nice lunch by the river, then a tour of the underground city and the Onyx stone factory in the afternoon. A great day overall with an excellent guide. The hotel is historical and has some beautiful decor, as well as a cute kitten wandering around. The room was clean, and an average size for Turkey. I was a bit confused by the bathroom as the toilet was literally in the shower stall, I asked about this and the owner kindly said that it was because the building was historical (the squat toilet would have been in the shower). Not all the rooms have this, but again it was because we were able to check in early that we received this room. Breakfast is average and there is a beautiful rooftop terrace. The hotel is very conveniently located in the center of the city - close to restaurants, the bus station and tour agencies. We went hot air ballooning the next morning with Voyager Balloons and they were excellent. Great location. Wonderful staff. Chetin was wonderful and did everything possible to make our stay perfect. As soon as we made our reservation we had an email from him confirming and offering his services. He made sure we were met at the airport and brought right to his door. The minute we walked in we were charmed by the ambiance. Our room (a triple on the ground floor) was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Chetin's suggestions for a short walk to Sunset Point and traditional restaurant for dinner were perfect. He arranged a car and driver to take us on a tour the next day at a time that was convenient for us, made all the arrangements for one of our party to go for a balloon ride, for all of us to see the Whirling Dervish ceremony, and organized our reservations for the bus to Pemukkale. He did everything possible to make us love Turkey and we do. There are lots of hotels in Cappadocia but if I was ever able to return I'd certainly want to stay at the Oriental Cave Suites. The upstairs terrace is a huge bonus. Waking up to watch the balloons float overhead was magical. Sitting there to watch the sunset was a relaxing end to the day as well. The dog and the new kitten really made it feel like home. Note: one night the radiant heating pipe in the bathroom dripped on the toilet paper soaking the roll. Just proves nothing is perfect, but this came darn close. Reasonable price. Excellent location, just 1minutes away from the bus terminal. The owner of the hotel arranges you the best travel package with the cheapest price you can find in the market. I stayed for 1 night(04.Feb.2015). Design of the room is quite oriental & traditional style, and the smell of woods will makes you feel cozy. Blanket and pillows were neat and towels were clean also. Bathroom was working well and I couldn't found any inconvenience during my stay. Location is also nice it's not far from the center of Goreme and it's easy to find because there is a rock named "Roma Kalesi" right next to hotel so you'll know it if you see it. Cappadocia at night is bit cold during winter season. Of course there is a heater in your bathroom but the owner kindly gave me additional electronic heater so that I can use it whenever I want to(But I didn't used it because room was warm enough). Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to eat breakfast because my balloon tour in the morning was delayed, so there is nothing I can say about it. But before my leaving I had a dinner at hotel's restaurant. Spaghetti and salad was extraordinarily delicious so i guess breakfast must be nice.
