The best area to stay in Nevra is the Old Town, particularly around the central square and the streets leading up to the castle.

This area is the historical heart of Nevra, characterised by its traditional stone houses, narrow cobbled streets, and stunning views over the Aegean Sea. The central square, Plateia Eleftherias, is a natural gathering point, surrounded by local tavernas and small shops. You'll find many of the town's most interesting buildings here, including the Byzantine Church of Agia Sophia.

Couples often find the Old Town ideal for a romantic and relaxing holiday. The charming streets are great for leisurely strolls, discovering hidden courtyards, and enjoying meals with picturesque backdrops. The proximity to the castle allows for easy access to breathtaking sunset views.

For those seeking a more tranquil setting but still close to the town's amenities, the area just above the Old Town, towards the castle, offers some excellent options.

The best time to visit Nevra is during the shoulder seasons of May-June and September-October, as these months offer pleasant weather and fewer crowds.

During May and June, the weather is warm and sunny, great for exploring the region's natural beauty and archaeological sites. The countryside is lush, and the sea is warm enough for swimming. It's an excellent time for couples looking for a romantic escape with plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities like hiking and visiting ancient ruins without the peak summer heat.

September and October also offer lovely, mild weather, ideal for sightseeing and enjoying the local cuisine. The summer crowds have thinned out, making it a more peaceful experience. Families might find this period particularly appealing for a relaxed holiday, with comfortable temperatures for children to play outdoors and explore without getting too hot.

The summer months of July and August are also popular, though they can be very hot and busy. If you prefer a lively option and don't mind higher temperatures, this could still be a good option.
