If you’re seeking peace, serenity, and amazing sunsets while dining, “ The Spa Retreat” is the place for you!
The grounds are lush with plenty of greenery and flowers. The cottages ( Sea View) are quaint, cozy, comfortable, and relaxing. Listening to the waves, while watching the “Seaview” from the patio is the icing on the cake.
The food and drinks are not included, but are reasonable priced and absolutely delicious!! The staff are friendly and very accommodating.
I WILL return, often! I LOVE this place!
Wonderful piece of heaven. The staff and service were great and the property was the perfect place to relax. Quiet and the views and sunset were ........
The Spa and massages by the ocean were very romantic as well so we got 2!!!!!
Hope to go back very soon
The property and views were lovely. However this place is definitely not worth what they’re charging. I would say it’s worth maybe $150 a night. Also, service in restaurant is painfully slow and the menu is not at all impressive. I had breakfast one morning and I assumed coffee refills were free as they normally are when you have coffee anywhere else. She did not inform me they weren’t and I she charged $10 for coffee!! I complained that she should have told me and she didn’t even care. I was excited too about snorkeling as they told me they have snorkel gear for guests. The day I wanted to go I was told they don’t have any fins :( The rooms are nice but a little outdated and again they are nothing special. The bartender Ricardo was very nice though I will say that. I won’t stay here again if I were to go back to Negril and wanted to stay on the cliffs I would go to Rockhouse which is an amazing hotel and where I wanted to go before booking at the Spa retreat.
Last year when I began researching hotels to celebrate my first anniversary with my wife I stumbled upon the name "The SPA Retreat Boutique Hotel." I remember seeing only 2 bad reviews and in my opinion they seemed unfair. I was not yet ready to book, however, after reading the other outstanding reviews I HAD to go see for myself and most certainly was not disappointed. To begin, we were offered a room upgrade on account of our anniversary celebration (Thank you Spa Fam!). EVERYONE on staff was very pleasant and helpful! The hotel is breathtakingly beautiful, especially at sunset! As an avid "foodie" I can report without a doubt that the food at the Blue Mahoe Restaurant onsite was AMAZING! Having discussed it with my wife, we have concluded that our stay at the The SPA Retreat Boutique Hotel has been our BEST hotel stay in Jamaica to date. You should definitely try it... it's perfect for couples!
Great intimate resort for couples! Very calm and lowkey type of vacation vibe where you can just relax by the pool, soak in the sun & jam to some tunes. Oh and the amazing spa packages!
Cons: not many food options but the food was good . I don’t eat much so opted out of their meal package (which was expensive in my opinion) .
There weren’t many activities on site, or really any at all outside of cliff jumping and a really nice date night on the beach type of thing. And it wasn’t until the end of my trip where I seen there was actually a water park nearby. Would’ve loved checking that out. Staff never mentioned itz
Overal I’d recommend this resort for a nice little 3 nights trip for a couple that just wants to relax and completely unwind. There’s really not much to do outside of getting drinks, eating and laying out by the pool. So if you’re adventurous I’d say skip out on this one because you will get bored fast.

BED BUGS. While this resort is so beautiful and the staff is the ABSOLUTE best, the villa that my boyfriend and I stayed in left us itchy and paranoid.
By the last day of our trip, we became itchy but honestly thought it may have been mosquito bites or something. But as we traveled back home, the itchiness began and we were covered in itchy bumps. Our friends who also joined us on the trip confirmed they had bites too.
Please note these were NOT sand fleas as the owner tried to imply to my friend via email (she only responded to her email and not mine. I'm assuming the pictures of my raw boyfriend's back covered in bumps was too much for her).
There's only a small section of sand on the property and our feet were not bitten up at all so we knew the bites were not from sand fleas.
The most disappointing part of this entire situation is that the owner has not responded to any of my emails which include photos of our bites.
Again, the property and service was lovely but I cannot bring myself to recommend this property to anyone and Expedia should take this property off of the listing until the bed bugs are addressed. I'm currently awaiting for Expedia to get back to me on next steps since the manager of the property refuses to respond to any of our emails.
The Spa Resort was amazing and I would highly recommend. It is located at the beginning of the cliff side, so the fall into the water is isn’t as high. The rooms were spacious, clean and modern. I especially loved the cozy robes. The balconies provide a great space to take in the views and hang with friends. The staff at the spa were attentive and friendly and services were impeccable. Would highly recommend a visit to the Spa.
We loved the design, and the continuous views of the ocean. The ocean water was clean and a delightful place to swim. The saltwater pool was lovely, and the service was consistently hospitable and friendly. We used the spa service once, and the restaurant a-la-carte for at least a dozen meals, which turned out to be most economical for us. We will be back!!!
The hotel is great for relaxation in a cozy ADULT only environment. The staff was EXCEPTIONALLY Good and inviting!!!!
Be aware that there in no Beach on the property but there is access to the Water.
The Spa Retreat was very quiet, clean, and a great place to relax on beautiful grounds. We ate at 6-7 different restaurants during our stay in Negril and the food at Blue Mahoe was our favorite on the island as well.
We liked the peace and quiet of this small resort, great views and nice cabin with front porch. Restaurant prices a little high, and beware of coffee prices! They sat down a carafe of coffee on our table and then charged us $10.00,
they charge for each (small) cup. Got three different explanations for coffee prices from three servers?! There are two great breakfast places to walk to from here...Patsy's and Canoe, both within five minutes. And Patsy's has great desserts and ice cream too. Didn't know until we got the bill that we paid $24.00 for two pieces of cheesecake at Spa, thought that was a bit high!
Absolutely a great place. This is a hidden gem in Negril- unreal views, great staff and top shelf food. This place is real "chill" so if your looking for a hard core party scene or late night antics, look elsewhere...if your looking for a nice quiet top shelf spot this is the place. Rooms are clean, large and very comfortable. The road noise can be an issue if that bothers you, but they provide a white noise machine that basically makes it all go away. The spa is in the cliff section, so no beach, but you can swim in the ocean- the resort has a few landings that give access to the water, plus the pool is right on the cliffs and is nice to swim in. The restaurant and bars are great and the food is top shelf. The owner is a great guy and his dogs are very friendly. If your afraid of dogs, no worries...they listen to him and will leave you alone if he tells them to. Overall a great experience and we will be back
Everything was great. Absolitely loved the quaintness and how beautiful the room was. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Front desk, Bar, security and restaurant.
Liked the private little sand beach right on the cliffs, however, the resort does not maintain it so guests could use it. Would’ve been nice to see it raked each morning.
The infinity pool was one of the most unique things I have ever seen. Marco the bartender was one of the coolest people I have ever meet. Staying at this property was definitely a great experience and left me with a good impression of Negril.
Plus: The property is modern, quiet, well landscaped and scenic. Nice salt water pool and easy access to the ocean. Food and drinks were excellent as well.
Negative: Not much. In general, you might need a car/cab at any West End / Cliffs resort to get to other restaurants, clubs and activities.
