Perfect for a quiet weekend on the lake. My personal opinion is that it’s slightly overpriced for the size of the home. Especially if sharing the space with other renters-the basement space can be rented separately from the upstairs. But I suppose that’s the market rate so do with that what you will. The owners thought of everything and exceeded every other stay we have had prior in a VRBO rental. Their example should be the industry standard. The cottage was comfortable, quiet, clean, and perfectly located for our destination needs. The owners are excellent in their communication. They had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The phone service isn't the best inside the house, but we could text and the wifi worked. The host was responsive to any questions. There is easy access to the nice dock on the property. We had easy communication with the host. However, entry walkway and the steps leading to the cottage deck are slick if wet due to algae growth. Note if you have pets, the gate on the deck does not latch without manually lifting latch for a secure catch. In addition, there are many rules and individual fees accessed if those rules are broken. One of which - you are responsible to pull garbage cans to the street on Thursdays for pickup on Friday. If you fail to do that, if I remember correctly, there is a $40. Fee accessed per can. I understand placing garbage in cans but pulling cans to the street for pickup does not merit a relaxing vacation along with other fees you need to be aware of. I did not find this information when booking - so be sure you check the rule book after arriving to avoid other various fees that you could be charged for. ##### Rebecca G. Quiet peaceful and gorgeous! Do not miss out on this location for your trip to Old Hickory Lake! Home is right on the lake with a huge backyard and private dock. There are deer and fireflies everywhere. The neighborhood is so quiet and peaceful and full of southern charm. The hosts are amazing… they were so quick to respond to any questions we had. My husband and I stayed at the Cozy Cottage for our honeymoon in August-September. We had a wonderful stay and felt right at home. The cottage had everything we needed and is in a great location. We brought our boat and kept it at the dock which was super convenient and we had a great time exploring Old Hickory Lake! We have been talking about staying here again. The hosts made sure to provide you with everything they could think of. We originally rented just the upstairs but changed our mind at the last minute due to not having access to the laundry room and asked if we could rent the whole house so we could use the laundry room (keep that in mind if just renting the upstairs). The hosts were wonderful and allowed us to do so. They provided everything you could want/need including extra snacks, soaps & shampoos, and robes in each closet. The cupboards are full of pots, pans, utensils, spices. and coffee. There are also some food items such as oatmeal, peanut butter, etc. There are grocery stores fairly close by and we went before going to the house. The bedrooms are plenty (whole house) and the beds are comfy. There were 3 bathrooms if needed (1 upstairs and 2 down.) It was like a 5 star hotel only better because of the gorgeous views you had. Each day we saw several deer going through the property (I counted 21 in one passing). We also saw a fox each day and at one point he curled up in the open field next to the house; adorable! We saw lots of geese, ducks, cranes, etc. on the lake. It was all so beautiful that we didn't go anywhere else. I felt privileged to be able to stay in such a heavenly place and highly recommend! ##### Janet S. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, great location and easy to travel to different parts of the Nashville area. The hosts were great to work with and followed up as needed. The home was clean, nice layout, and had everything I needed. Wonderful deck with comfortable seating, I also lucked out and had beautiful weather the entire time I was there! My only feedback was that the neighbors were bit closer (location wise) than I anticipated, so not as private, but it was a very quiet area and I had no problems. There is a dock but I didn't really use it because of the geese, not within the hosts control but it did prevent me from using that as a place to relax. But, geese go where geese want to go, just made it more wildlife friendly, which I definitely enjoyed. Would highly recommend and would consider staying there again! Thank you! ##### Colleen W.
