"All was good, staff was fantastic. Being I such a hot and humid climate, and the heavy use of AC, there must be some attention to the walls and ceilings regarding mold and mildew. Our room was barley noticeable, others reported to us their rooms were slightly worse. It's expected in this tough environment, just saying others may not be as understanding. All in all, great experience, we would come back."

"A Perfect Coastal Getaway at Shutters on the BanksOur recent stay at Shutters on the Banks in the Outer Banks area was absolutely fantastic. Located right on the oceanfront at Mile Post 8, this family-owned boutique hotel perfectly captures the relaxing, welcoming charm of the North Carolina coast.The location is unbeatable, offering direct beach access via a beautiful wooden boardwalk that leads straight to the sand. Starting the morning with a cup of coffee at the dune-top gazebo while watching the sunrise over the Atlantic was an unforgettable highlight of our trip. It is also central to fantastic dining, local shops, and classic attractions like the Wright Brothers National Memorial.Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. We loved the coastal aesthetic, particularly the adjustable wooden window shutters that give the hotel its unique character. The room came fully equipped with convenient amenities like a mini-fridge, microwave, and high-speed Wi-Fi, making it easy to settle in and unwind.One of the standout features of this property is the choice of two excellent saltwater pools. Having both a heated indoor pool with a hot tub and a spacious outdoor pool meant that we could enjoy a swim regardless of the weather. Additionally, the complimentary daily breakfast was a wonderful perk, featuring a great selection of fresh breakfast staples and a fun do-it-yourself waffle station that kept everyone satisfied before hitting the beach.Highly recommended for couple"

"We absolutely love staying here! The house is clean and it’s only a short walk/drive to the beach! The kitchen has everything you need and the host is very responsive with any questions we may have during our stay. We can’t wait to visit again!"

"Great stay, super close to the beach and so many restaurants/attractions! The only issue we ran into was the WiFi network not showing up/password not working. This probably could’ve been troubleshot but we were on vacation and didn’t really feel like it plus the cell service was good anyway. We brought our own sheets and towels per instructions and other guests were kind enough to pay it forward by leaving behind some trash bags, paper towels, and toilet paper so we tried to do the same. Overall the house was stocked very well and even more than expected! It would’ve been nice to know that the bathroom didn’t have a bath mat but luckily we had some extra towels so the floor didn’t get all wet. Nelene was great with communication and always quick to respond. She left us with no questions about check in/check out and made our trip a breeze. We’ll definitely be staying at her properties in the future!"

"Really appreciated Tracy and Phyllis’s help they were very accommodating and kind. The pool was warm and loved the direct access to the beach. Breakfast was tasty and they even served real scrambled eggs. Definitely would recommend the restaurant across the street, Miller’s for great service and seafood. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back."

"Overall, this house was perfect for what we needed! The house was clean, and the host was extremely responsive. Whenever we I contacted him, he responded within minutes. If you like being walking distance from restaurants and a ton of amenities, it’s a perfect location. We enjoyed being able to walk to restaurants and shops. We found a nice public entry to the beach about a block and a half away, and the beach wasn’t overwhelmingly crowded. We really enjoyed the pool, game room, and hot tub! Perfect for a family vacation with kids."
