In an area of natural beauty, surrounded by a garden of flowers, herbs and plants. This is a luxurious villa to rent for your perfect holiday. The villa is on the outskirts of the hamlet and so has stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea, the surrounding lush countryside and mountains. Quiet and private but not isolated, just 0.6km from the centre of the picturesque village of Margarites where there are traditional tavernas, cafes and a supermarket. The village of Margarites also has a renowned pottery where visitors have the opportunity to watch the ceramic pottery being made. Blue Paradise Villa is only 20 km from Rethymno, 72 km from Heraklion airport and 95 km from Chania airport. The villa is also in the vicinity of several places of historical interest such as Arkadi (16km), ancient Eleftherna (5 km) and a little bit further afield the famous archaeological site of Knossos (72 km). And conveniently, the villa is just 13 km (approx: 10-15 minute drive) from the beautiful, sandy beaches of Panormo. In the large village of Panormo you will find more amenities. This delightful two-storey villa is 110 sq.m, with beautifully tiled floors and high, wooden beam ceilings. It features a lovely well-kept garden and terrace with a 25 sq.m pool with sunbeds and umbrellas, barbecue facilities and parking area. It can accommodate 5 people in two elegantly furnished bedrooms, one of which has a double bed and the second has two single beds. On the ground floor there is an extra room which can be used as a study as well as a bedroom. If you are coming with a young child or a baby, we will provide you with a cot and a high-chair. On the first floor all rooms have air conditioning, satellite TV, Internet connection and access to the veranda. On the first floor there is a veranda of 10 sq.m with steel table and chairs, and overlooks the Cretan countryside. The comfortable sitting room is fully furnished and has satellite T.V., CD player and internet access. The kitchen has all essential appliances such as electric and gas cooker/oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, toaster etc. and dining table and chairs. Also on the first floor there is the double bedroom with a small WC. On the ground floor there is a 35 sq.m patio with a stainless steel table and chairs, where you can sit and relax. There is also a separate storage room for laundry with a washing machine.There is a large, beautifully designed 12sq.m bathroom with jacuzzi/bathtub, wash-hand basin and toilet . The other double bedroom is on the ground floor, with two single beds. Next to this bedroom there is a spacious study with a desk, a single bed and a glass cabinet displaying traditional Cretan pieces. From this particular room you can also go upstairs via the wooden stairs. Throughout, the interior has been furnished with stylish, modern wooden and steel furniture and elegant fabrics, with some modern and traditional touches, all in perfect harmony. Plus, there is ample storage space in all of the rooms. Due to the location of the village and the topography of the area, there are many beautiful hiking trails, such as E4 starting from the village of Margarites and going up to Eleftherna. Monestary in the village is worth a visit too and we fell in love with the Pomegranate trees. Pool was discreetly cleaned every couple of days. A great base for exploring the central part of Crete with it's dramatic mountain range and beautiful scenery. Rethymno and Panormo great places to visit close by. In a quiet location and a short walk to Margarites, where there was a local shop for amenities and many tavernas and pottery/gift shops. A lovely walk too up to the monastery. The villa was cleaned twice whilst we were there and Elias was quick to respond to any queries. The pool was great, and we made use of the BBQ too. This villa is everything we wanted, needed and more. We stayed as an adult family of 3 for 2 ½ weeks late June into early July. We were greeted by Iannis, who showed us around and answered any questions we had, he’d installed a DVD player for us in advance as we’d asked before we arrived if there was one, and he tended the pool every 2 days before we even made our breakfast!!! Very discreet and quiet service. Iannis and Elias were very quick to respond to any issues and questions we had, the way they looked after us was really good – but ONLY when we needed it. Otherwise, we were left alone to enjoy a well appointed and spacious villa with good outdoor space and everything we needed for entertainment; 3 TVs, large bathroom with jacuzzi, lovely big bedrooms (best holiday sleeps we’ve had!) and a well-equipped kitchen with plentiful utensils and crockery etc. On arrival, the fridge had water, a bottle of wine, conserve, butter, crispbreads and fruit, which was lovely. The washing machine is a good one and cleans well. Outside, the pool is plenty big enough, lovely clover lawn, there is a shower and a great barbecue. 4 sunbeds, 2 easy chairs, great big glass-topped table & chairs under a useful canopy. Elias the owner was extremely helpful and the property was cleaned 6 times in 2 weeks each time with a sheet and towel change. Blue Paradise is a really peaceful property, beautifully finished only a couple of years ago so at a really high standard. The pool is a good size and the outside areas great for dining out in the evenings or spending the day in cooling by the pool! The owners father was born here so it is very well finished and cared for unlike a usual holiday rental house. Only thing to bear in mind with young children is there is lots of steps! The villa is in the hamlet of Tzannakiana but Margarites is only a few hundred yards away and is a pretty mountain village with a few places to eat and drink and lots of pottery shops! ##### Rachael J.
