Just like in Bagan there are lots of old temples and stupas around and one can easily spend a few days here without getting bored. It's pleasantly uncrowded and authentic. The easiest way to get there is probably to take a bus from Bagan to Magwe (6h) and change there for an overnight bus to Mrauk-U (14h). It can be a cold and dusty experience but that's just part of what makes that place so great if you ask me. If you're a photographer you'll love it!
