Instead, we were informed that our reservation could not be honored because we did not have a marriage certificate to prove we are married. This requirement was never clearly stated on the hotel’s website or during the booking process. If this is an official policy, it should be communicated transparently and prominently before guests complete their reservation. Travelers do not typically carry marriage certificates while on vacation, so this came as a complete surprise. The lack of clear communication caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience after a long journey. We were unable to rest as planned and left feeling very disappointed. Greater transparency about policies would help future guests avoid the same situation.
