Home was just as advertised and very comfortable. Karen was very easy to reach when we had questions. Unit was a short walk to the airport shuttle bus and sbahn. Neighborhood market was just down the block. Easy bike ride to the English Garden. After spending a few days close to Oktoberfest, this location was a nice , relaxing change. Would definitely stay here again.
Loved it. Beautifully decorated with everything you might need with the bonus of a private patio. We were very comfortable. I might just say that in looking for the place we were at first confused that the property is located behind what looks like a block of apartments, rather than a main house as the directions indicated, but we figured it out eventually. Wonderful convenient, but quiet location close to English gardens and public transportation. Host was easy to communicate with and very friendly and helpful.
We've stayed in quite a few VRBOs. This was one of the best! Each room was nice sized, even the bathroom. Great shower too! Everything we needed was there including soap for the washing machine, plenty of TP and the kitchen was so well equipped. Having a washer/dryer was a big plus for us. The metro stop is an easy walk and there is a small market nearby. We had two great meals at Brunnwart, just a short walk away. Fantastic food and service. Karin was easy to communicate with and we loved our time there. Highly recommend this guest house for your stay in Munich!
STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS. Pet hair covered linens. Argumentative, rude and disagreeable host.
I hate having to write negative reviews even when we tried to amicably resolve the multitude of issues with this with the owner. Truth be told, I wasn’t going to leave a review at all since I was partially refunded for our experience. I received however, a particularly nasty message from our host Karen, suggesting that I lied about the issues in her home, so here we go with an honest review. My Honesty - something that’s been called into question by our host for pointing out the unsatisfactory issues with her place.
When we checked in, we were met with absolutely freezing interior temperatures. The heat in the floor was off when we arrived, it was still not up to normal temperature upon checkout (leaving earlier than planned due to the poor quality of accommodations, more on that below).
The tea kettle was found with standing water from a previous guest. That alone should be enough to ring our host but I reserved on that until….
The bedding - the other two pillows that were in the closet are not only admittedly from the owner, (not even hers???!!!) but grossly covered in yellow stains - and missing pillow cases.
The extra blanket was also covered in leaves, dirt, and dog hair. This debris and fur made its way onto the bed.
None of this is okay, especially since the listing specifically says no pets allowed.
I relayed this to the owner who did nothing but essentially call me a liar and argued with me for 10 mins. By the by Karen-there’s a safety pin in the threshold between the wood and tile-so much for your spotless cleaning. Take some ownership of these issues.
Every issue brought to her attention was met with “everyone makes mistakes”. Sure, we all do. I make mistakes all the time (case in point - staying here even one night). Touting her Vrbo standings and other reviews- Karen: I’m not making this up. You suggesting that I am to get out of what? A $300 bill? Seriously? $300?! I’ve spent more than of my time writing this review so it’s got nothing to do with money.
Her EXCUSE was that the extra blanket probably “looked clean, so it was probably just put away”. Seriously?! That’s beyond not okay even pre-Covid times. I hate to think this is probably true of the towels too. Who knows what I wiped my face with, or what future guest will wipe theirs with.
Future Guests considering this place - just don’t. Know that gut feeling you have after reading this? Go with it and stay far away from Karen’s place.
The apartment was in a great location, close to the underground & the English Gardens. Karin was communicative & helpful & the apartment was clean & well equipped. We enjoyed our stay.
Just what we were looking for. Karin helped us with directionst to the local biergartens, how to use the wash/dryer and call a cab as the u6 is undergoing repairs in parts and was a challenge with luggage. Loved it...home away from home.
Das Appartement bietet zudem alles was man braucht.
Absolut empfehlenswert.
This place is heaven. Lovely little house secluded in a pretty garden--and yet it's right in the city. Best of both worlds also w/proximity to the English Garden and to the subway. The house itself is super-comfortable and really well-appointed (nice furniture, quality appliances etc). Very quiet, too. I slept so well every night. I was so sad to leave and I hope to return!

In a word, "Ideal"
This property was ideal for our nine night stay to visit the city's Christmas Markets. A quick ten minute walk from the Nordfriedhof u-bahn station and the Lufthansa Airport bus drop off made getting around the Munich easy. We would frequently return from the Christmas Markets and leave the u-bahn at Münchner Freiheit and then walk to the property after dinner, banking or shopping there. Despite being so close to town, it was very quiet. Karin was only a text away whenever we had a question. The property was very clean and well kept with all the comforts of home. There is plenty of shopping and dining in the area and it's only three stops away from the Museum district. We will certainly make this our home base for future trips to Munich.

Lovely and quiet
We stayed at this lovely guest house for 10 nights during Oktoberfest. It’s in a great location outside of the city centre but close to the U-Bahn (U6) and English Garden. We didn’t have a car but the nearest U-Bahn station (Nordfriedhof) is only 10 minutes by foot away and then another 10 minutes into the centre. It's also on the line to Allianz Arena if you are going to a football game.
The house is in such a tranquil suburban location and was very clean and stylish. It has everything you need for a short or long stay. It has a lovely little private outdoor area which is nice to sit in if the weather is fine or just look at if the weather is less friendly out.
There is a small local supermarket just around the corner which has pretty much everything you need and bigger supermarkets can be found near Alte Heide and Münchener Freiheit U-bahn stations (they are also within walking distance if you’re happy to walk a little!)
Would not hesitate to stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a bit of home-away-from-home.
