Spent lovely weekend in Mullingar the hotel was perfect.

very busy hotel; very comfortable; my only ripe: breakfast menu and what was available were two different things

We booked a cabin and received a nice upgrade to a cottage, which was very clean, well decorated, quiet, and peaceful. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was roomy to cook in, plus there was a nice area to sit outside and gaze at the sweet cows. It's a lovely destination in itself and not far from Trim.

We had house 4 which was very spacious. Large lounge with steps down to kitchen/dining area. 2 double bedrooms + double sofa bed in dining area. Both bedrooms had ensuite. One had a shower, the other had a jacuzzi bath + shower over it. Staff r incredibly friendly & helpful. The accommodation is set on a golf course so it is very quiet and a long walk to the local village...but a 5 minute drive. There you will find a Centra store which has everything and they make fresh sandwiches, paninis etc...

Great views of Trim castle from the roof bar and surrounding countryside. Shame the entrance doors are not automatic as it would help when trying to get luggage into hotel.

Beautiful location and charming period building.

From the very beginning, before we even arrived at the hotel, it was clear the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel and grounds are immaculate and the countryside setting is stunning. The walks around the grounds are so peaceful. We had breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks while staying there and couldn't find fault with anything. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, we even got to have a look around 10 bedroom Balyna House which can be rented out with its own bar and butler and a cool...

A surprisingly beautiful location considering it is right next to the N3, however I hardly noticed the traffic and so enjoyed the other side of the hotel which runs right down to the lakeside (as the name suggests) where you can sit out and sample the hotel's fine food and/or beer. An easy bike ride away is Lough Crew which is well worth a visit for the full 360* panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and the megalithic pathway tombs on top of the hill. I was bowled over by how nice this place is. Lovely warm greeting at reception, beautiful room, fabulous food, genuinely friendly staff. A master class in how to operate..
