Located just far enough out of Colombo to be quiet, yet can easily walk to Galle Face Green if you wish. The hotel is clean and staff are great. Plenty food and beverage options at reasonable prices or try Galle Road for street food. Take the free shuttle to the beach lounge for a swim in the sea or just relax on the sea front. The roof pool is busier than the beach lounge but still always room available. High Tea was very good and the Tides buffet was super.

Stayed on our last night in Sri Lanka as a stopover on the way to the airport. Can't remember exactly but it's about a 20 min drive. Hence can't comment on the local area and what's around. The hotel however is wonderful. Old colonial building tastefully renovated with great attention to detail. Food was also very good and reasonably priced. A real bit of luxury in great grounds.
