In the heart of northuberland dark skies area stars every where accomodation fantastic Helen and the staff superb. Very nice breakfasts would book again Ann and George
Lovely warm welcome when we arrived, it is in a beautiful setting. The room was beautifully decorated, immaculate and very comfortable.
We really enjoyed the breakfast, cooked to perfection.
We highly recommend this B&B and will definitely be going back. Thank you Rose and Thistle for an amazing stay.
Lovely stay, room immaculate, staff friendly and attentive on arrival (thank you Susan!) Bar/pub welcoming, nice friendly atmosphere. Could not fault food, was tasty, fresh and good portion sizes. Breakfast was served in lovely communal area where we could help ourselves to drinks. Overall great overnight stay. Thank you ☺️
Spotlessly clean. Top quality. Recently and tastefully refurbished to a high standard. Welcoming check-in. Perfect location, peace and tranquility with great walks in every direction. Totally dog friendly. Fantastic breakfast with a great range from waffles, fruit and maple syrup to full english. Outside games for the kids (and grown-up ones) and areas to relax, enjoy the views, eat or just drink in sun or shade. Bar and restaurant with pool tables as well as a boot room after muddy walks. Great value for money and would recommended the Coleridge's room even for a couple giving a luxurious space and elegance. Rooms are all named after poets. Service was immaculate and a big thanks to our hosts.
Stayed over for a night whilst travelling back from a trip to Scotland. A great B & B which I can’t recommend highly enough. From meeting Susan on arrival where she showed off our room. Whilst cosy, everything was pristine! A comfy bed and great breakfast the next morning topped off a great stay.
Not forgetting the pub attached……where we had our evening meal and probably the best Beef and Ale pie we’ve ever had with great personal service too.
We’d highly recommend the Rose & Thistle and look forwards to staying again when next in the area.
Everything had been carefully thought through for a comfortable and special stay

Disappointed
Place was clean.
Bedroom was small, the bed was small and a bit short. Disappointed not to have a kettle and water in the room as I have many medications to take.
Breakfast was excellent.
The evening meal wasn't that nice but this is a different business to the B & B side.
Having to pay £150 deposit for the evening meal I felt was wrong especially as we were booked in as staying guests. The service charge of £31 was also wrong as the meal and menu wasn't the best and we had to choose before hand for our food.
Kleines B&B, sehr netter Empfang in angenehmer Umgebung. Persönliche Atmosphäre.
Restaurant/Pub im Nachbarort, ca 2,5km entfernt. Gut zu Fuss zu erreichen, mit gutem Angebot.
Beides sehr zu empfehlen.
