Welcome to the cottage, where you can kick back, relax, and appreciate down time, Southern-style. Whether you're a kayaker interested in exploring Eastern NC waterways, a family visiting a loved one at Camp LeJeune, or a couple wanting a romantic refuge, the cottage at Cedar Point can provide a wonderful base for a few days or more. Working remotely or have children in remote schooling? We have high speed internet and lovely places to work from with great views. Your well-behaved dog can join you!
Enjoy the lounge furniture on the front porch with a lovely sunset view. Stretch out with a novel (or take a snooze) in the hammock on the screened porch, where you’re looking out on the White Oak River. When feeling more ambitious, you can put in kayaks and paddle toward the marshes of Croatan National Forest, or around the bend and under the Swansboro bridge, across the Intracoastal Waterway, and out toward Bear Island State Park. The cottage is located one (empty) lot from the White Oak River. It’s about a 5-10 minute drive to the public beach at Emerald Isle, or to the scenic Tideland Trail of Croatan National Forest.
Ride your bikes to Swansboro just back over the bridge. Swansboro is an historic fishing village with a beautiful and quaint waterfront downtown. A few of our favorites in downtown Swansboro: dinner or brunch at The Boro; classic diner breakfast at Yana's (with Elvis flair); ice cream on the second-story deck at Bake, Bottle & Brew (keep an eye out for dolphins!); lunch at Church Street Pub (or get takeout and pack the sandwiches for the beach!); date night at Il Cigno's Italian restaurant; breakfast bagels at Giovanni's (try the Spicy Sofia!); live music on the dock at Saltwater Grill; browsing nautical treasures and antiques at Poor Man's Hole; and exploring lots of other lovely shops!
Close by in Cedar Point is 34 North - a great spot for those looking to unwind with outdoor games, craft beer pouring system, and usually a food truck. If you're the wine type, check out nearby Christina's Wine Boutique for a glass of wine and pick up a unique bottle from their curated selection. The kids will love putt putt, bowling, games and more at nearby MacDaddy's, a boat trip to "Shark Tooth Island" to collect shells and shark teeth, or a day trip to the Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores.
Inside the cottage, WOW! There are vaulted ceilings, beachy colors, lots of windows, shiplap, restored original heart pine floors in living room and kitchen, and heritage plank flooring in the bedrooms. Ceiling fans in every room and on the front and side porches. Dining room table seats 6. Great collection of puzzles, games, books, and DVD library. Large comfy sofa for the whole family to relax. Internet access; TV with Roku in living room and TV with Chromecast in master bedroom.
Master bedroom has a comfy firm king-sized bed; master bath has a large jacuzzi and walk-in shower with two shower heads. The shower includes a steam generator, which is especially nice in cooler weather. Second bedroom has two twin beds; second bath has a combo tub/shower. Linens and bath towels are provided (please bring your own beach towels).
If you’re inclined to cook, you’ll enjoy the cottage’s well-equipped kitchen. We have a propane grill available on the side deck. And you won’t find seafood fresher than the fish sold at Clyde’s, between the two bridges on the way to Swansboro.
We have three sea kayaks (one double and two singles; includes paddles and lifejackets) and four adult beach bikes with locks (BYO helmets) — kayaks & bikes available for rent upon request. If interested, please inquire and we can add this to your reservation.
We allow a maximum of 4 guests. The house is a no-smoking zone. Ours is a quiet neighborhood, so please, no house parties. The yard is not fully fenced, but you can walk your dog along the road, which borders the river.
We believe that "Y'all means ALL," and are intentionally inclusive in welcoming guests without regard to race, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, family structure, or political affiliation.
If you love the coast and are looking for a quiet place to stay for a few days, we hope you'll inquire about the cottage. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have, or to suggest things that could improve your visit.
CAMERA DISCLOSURE: We have a Ring doorbell on the front door. Aside from the Ring doorbell on the front door, we do not have cameras at the property (inside or outside). We trust our guests to take care of the property and treat it as their own.

We enjoyed our stay. The cottage is cozy and has everything you need. It is on a quiet street in a great location. The owners for very responsive to any questions we had.
We love this cottage and always appreciate the kindness of the hosts. Our favorite is to bring our boat and put in across the street at cedar point. Lots to explore and a wonderful location with all the amenities! Thank you for another great visit.
A cute cottage with a great front porch. The kitchen is very well stocked and the furniture it comfy. The cottage is close to Swansboro and Emerald Isle.
This cottage is adorable and has everything you need. It is close to Swansboro and the beach. We stayed for 5 nights while our hardwoods were being done and our stay could not have been better! Our dog felt right at home.
We had a great stay in a perfect cottage. Loved the proximity to both Swansboro & the beach. Quiet street. Our dogs felt right at home. The owners were very responsive. Perfect spot for our week of working remotely.
Relaxing! Everything as described in the advertisement. We enjoyed walking to Swansboro and the short drive to the beach was easy. The weather didn’t fully cooperate but we still enjoyed.
I’ve been coming to this area for vacation with my extended family since I was a little girl- now about 35 years! I ’ve stayed in dozens of properties in the area and none were so charming, tastefully designed, and well appointed as Imogen and Brad’s cottage at Cedar Point.
It was a delight to stay here. It is conveniently located near all the restaurants in Swansboro and Emerald Isle. The views of the sunsets across the creek are stunning. We can’t wait to come back!
Absolutely love this house. Sure it's older, but it is comfortable and clean. I am currently searching for a new home in the area and this is one I'd want to pursue if the owners ever decided to part ways with it. Most importantly, the hosts are great and responsive.
Visited family nice to come home to a house really enjoyed the front porch and the weather was perfect would definitely say again. Was disappointed with the cleanliness of the screen in porch, hammock had lots of dog hair and leaves on the deck. A small pier on the water would have been great. The atmosphere and decorations in the house were awesome
This little house was perfect for a relaxing fall weekend. The owners responded quickly to all communication, and the location is great-just a few steps from the river with a spacious front porch and convenient to Emerald Isle and Swansboro. We rented the kayaks and enjoyed an afternoon on the river. One thing to be aware of—the windows in the 2nd bedroom don’t close completely so one night when there was a north wind coming off the river it was a little chilly. Fortunately our teenager who wears shorts if the temperature is above 20 was sleeping in there so he was fine, but that’s probably something that will need some attention before winter. We would definitely stay here again though.
Great location for deep sea fishing departure/nice water access
Primary visit was a colleague meet up before a deep sea fishing departure out of Dudley’s marina Fri am. Location was perfect gif that. We could have walked. Was also right between Swansboro & EI.
After fishing my wife & daughter joined for Fri/Sat as colleagues went home. My daughter loved the water access and watching the crabs.
House was comfortable & had great amenities. Maybe a couple of small things could use a touch up, but isn’t that always true. May look to stay there again. Didn’t get to use back porches or outside amenities, but front porch was great.
This was our second time to Emerald Isle, but our first time staying at this particular VBRO. The house was perfect; very clean and all the amenities we could possibly need for a week at the beach. We loved reading on the hammock on the screened porch, and would have used more of the outdoor space if it weren’t for the rain. When we arrived, hurricane Debbie was also getting ready to hit our area. Lots of scary forecasts for rain and flooding and wind. Our hosts were very responsive when we had questions regarding our safety and what to do if we ever felt like we needed to leave. Luckily, we were able to stay and managed to get a few dry spells to make it to the beach and out on the boat. If we decide to vacation in Emerald Isle again, I would not hesitate to stay here again.
Thanks Imogen and Brad!
We enjoyed our stay very much !! Hosts were very accommodating and the house was well stocked with everything we needed . Lots of good restaurant. And things to do within a couple of miles highly recommended
The beach cottage was comfortable, beautifully decorated, had a great floor plan with restful porches. Everything needed was provided for the stay. The setting was quiet and easy to find. The hosts had identified what was necessary for getting to know the surrounding areas in terms of activities, stores and restaurants.
We had a perfect vacation at this wonderful waterside cottage! The owners accommodated us with an early check-in. We found the cottage to be clean and had all the amenities we needed. Beautifully furnished and very cozy! Located on a safe quiet street near restaurants and the beach.
