A very beautiful open-air public market with all the fresh produce is only 12 minutes away by foot.

Green alleys, cafes, bistros and workshops of artisans and artists are the charm of these neighborhoods of Montreal. It's up to you to explore them.

Formerly a French-speaking working-class district, Hochelaga-Maisonneuve continues to renew itself and diversify, without losing its identity. In full effervescence, this young and trendy district has managed to preserve its rich architectural heritage that dates back to the beginnings of the industrial revolution in Canada. The place wants to remain friendly and the present rubs shoulders with the past, still visible in its revamped warehouses and factories, its imposing churches and the pretty Maisonneuve market which has retained its vocation until today. You will also discover the Maisonneuve library, the Morgan bath, the Denise-Pelletier theater and the Village au Pied-du-Courant.

Continue your walk further north, towards Rosemont and its many parks and lively urban villages: the Masson promenade and its local shops, the green haven of Molson Park, the Cité-Jardin and its rural atmosphere. So many sectors with very distinct personalities, so many lively living environments. This authentic neighborhood, where Jean Drapeau, former mayor of Montreal, lived for a long time, has always attracted families. In the alleys, so many children played hockey, hiding or bicycle races...

Appreciated by all, the Beaubien cinema, with its varied repertory and its Montreal International Children's Film Festival (FIFEM), testifies to a stimulating cultural life. In the surrounding area, charming café-bakeries and bistros await you for a break.

    Getting Around:

There is a bus stop located just beside the apartment, which brings you to the center of the city, or towards Papineau metro, or Viau metro (Parc Olympique).

A Bixi station is less than 5 min with a beautiful cycle path to the city center.

This place came highly recommended but I am uncertain as to why. The check in process was difficult as we weren't aware that we needed to give a security deposit in order to get the details. The location was fine. The stairwell up was sketchy and smelled. The apartment was more or less as it seemed in the pictures however we encountered several problems. First there are mice in the apartment. We woke up to mouse eaten butter. The host wasnt surprised. They sent someone to deal with it and learned that the place under the sink already had traps. They just had to rebait them. The AC unit is a wall unit and is installed behind a wall therefore not getting to the bedrooms. There was a standing fan but it broke and it took two days to get a replacement. The tub is treacherous as it is extremely slippy. Pls be careful with children I almost slipped a few times. A bath mat would be a good idea to supply. I didn't find the host responsive. Often I would just get notes saying thank you for your patience. And a solution wouldnt come for 48hrs. We were there for a week. We couldn't move because there wasn't anything else in the area that we needed to be. Lastly I was promised a refund and haven't received anything and we have been gone for 4 days. I'm still being asked to be patient. The last communication I received was asking me to rate the apartment a 4 or a 5 and if I couldn't speak with them...this place could be lovely...but this was not our experience
