The artistic charming house is located 150 m off the main road to the Cloud Forest Reserve Monteverde. 200 m from CPI and Monteverde Institute. 600 m from the Monteverde Friend's school and from the Cloud Forest School CEC. Also a very short ride to the village of Sta. Elena. The house is tagged away 150 m from the main road in the end of the driveway with plenty of private parking as well as plenty of privacy. The out door garden with sitting area invites to watch birds or just have coffee with your family and /or friends. Internet is via optical wire and is pretty stable and fast enough as long as ICE is not interrupting the service in the area due to weather influence or repair. All tour operators pick you up here since the house is well-known. This makes this location an unique spot to stay. A hidden gem away from the crowd. Large windows let you feel you are living between the trees. The house is designed on 4 floors, with connection out door under roofing. Each floor has a private entrance from the outside. This makes the house fun to discover, play hide and seek, be cozy on one floor or have different activities going on on each floor. Phone and WiFi for your equipment is set firm. Stayed 3 nights in Feb 2020 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Christopher A. 1 Dec 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### A great escape in the trees The name says it all - this is the perfect getaway in the forest for a large group or family (we had 11). The house is multi-leveled with outdoor access to each level. The outdoor stairway is cleverly sheltered by an external roof, which is perfect since it's in the cloud forest and there were frequent mist showers with a gentle warmness from the forest. We loved looking into the forest as birds and animals came right to us. It's rustic because of its location, so the house has a simple kitchen but we found the showers great, the beds comfortable, and enjoyed our stay so much. Best of all, Sabine, our house, was amazing in helping us find the best local tours and guides while we were there. She was very patient and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this rental house. ##### Christopher A. Stayed 5 nights in Nov 2024 ### 8/10 Good #### amanda c. 2 Nov 2018 #### Fantastic house, great location, perfect base for biological reserve The house has a range of rooms allowing everyone in our group of 9 to find their own space. Kids enjoyed chilling out in the hammocks and the querky, arty feel to the house was lovely. They provide indoor shoes (lovely touch) as floors/ steps are slippery. Bus to the reserve and main town stops at bottom of the drive so the location is spot on for the biological reserve or the children’s eternal forest. Only negatives- Very windy during our stay so noisy in top room due to typical CR roofing. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hope to visit again soon ##### amanda c. There was plenty of space for all of us, and Sabine was wonderful in planning all of our activities for us. She scheduled guided tours with amazing guides, gave us great recommendations, and answered every question properly. She even went so far as to order birthday cakes with hand-written messages (one regular and she found a gluten free cake as well!) for us as we had two birthdays to celebrate. It took a lot of the stress of planning away from the trip and made it a wonderful experience. ##### Jane N.
