Find hotels in Monte Rei from £37

The best area to stay in Monte Rei is within the Monte Rei Golf & Country Club itself, as it's a self-contained luxury development.

This exclusive resort is centred around two championship golf courses designed by Jack Nicklaus, with accommodation options including villas and apartments. The properties are spread across the estate, offering privacy and views of the golf courses and the distant Serra do Caldeirão mountains. Facilities include several restaurants, a clubhouse, and a tennis academy.

Couples seeking a peaceful and upscale golfing retreat will find Monte Rei ideal. The resort offers a tranquil environment with high-end amenities, superb for relaxing after a round of golf. Many villas come with private pools, and there are fine dining options available on-site for a convenient and sophisticated experience.

Families will also appreciate the spacious villas and dedicated children's facilities. The resort provides a kids' club with supervised activities, ensuring younger guests are entertained while adults enjoy the golf or spa.

While Monte Rei is a year-round destination, the best time to visit for most travellers is during spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October).

During these months, the weather is pleasantly warm and sunny, with average temperatures ranging from 20°C to 28°C. This creates ideal conditions for enjoying outdoor activities like golf on the resort's championship courses, exploring the walking trails, or simply relaxing by the pool. You'll also find the surrounding Algarve region less crowded than during the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed experience when visiting nearby towns or beaches.

Couples looking for a tranquil and luxurious escape will particularly appreciate these shoulder seasons. The resort maintains its high standards of service, and the milder weather makes it superb for romantic strolls through the landscaped gardens or al fresco dining with stunning views. You can enjoy the full range of resort amenities without the intensity of the summer heat or the busier atmosphere.

Families travelling with younger children might also find these times preferable.
