"La Mezzaluna is a short walk from Barga Gallicano train station, and buses to Lucca. Rita is amazingly hospitable & welcoming, and did so much to make our stay enjoyable. Rooms are very nice, buffet breakfast set us up for the day. There is a bus up to Barga during the day, and a taxi back in evening.If you visit Barga, this is the place to stay. "

" Just Fabulous! It is difficult to put into words how wonderful this couple is and what they have created! Angela and Simone are the kindest most beautiful souls. The love they have for their home and project is second only possibly to the love and passion they have for life and the magic of Food! Once again it is difficult to put this into words. That being said we just returned from three weeks in Italy and we discovered, laughed and ate our way around this country and we did it well! The food in Italy is truly amazing, and I can say that without a shadow of doubt that the best food we had the entire time we were in this lovely country came out of Angelas Kitchen! This is no easy win. We had some incredible food experiences but Angela and Simone are hands down the absolute best. In our little group of late 40 year old adventurers, the discussions and consensus was that it was the best dinner anyone in our group had ever had..in life..period. (we live in Canadian wine and foodie country) Ok ok enough about food.I got sidetracked there. It happens. The property and amenities in this villa are 5 star. They truly have created an Oasis.I could go on about this but will not as I feel you only will appreciate this and deserve the oasis and kindness of these hosts if you take the leap!If you are looking for the best basecamp in Tuscany to explore and adventure around with your partner, family or friends then you found it. "Beautiful villa in the tranquil Tuscan Hills, this place is well equipped with everything you need and more. Close to beautiful Lucca and Florence with some lovely local restaurants nearby. Local food and wine is absolutely superb. Supermarkets are not far away with plenty of space in the villa to stock up. It has a well maintained pool and gardens and the owner is helpful and friendly and just an email away from anything you need. We visited the nearby beaches too. Directions to the villa are well explained, driving can be tricky with some tight bends but the views are breathtaking. Highly recommended. "

"A charming little house in a remote village in the Apuan Alps of north-east Tuscany. This is a gem of an area, with stunning, green mountainsides all around you, but still accessible for a day-trip to the seaside or to Lucca and Pisa.The house is at the very end of the village, a perfect stay for rural, simple, quiet country life amongst the local population of humans and wildlife!Fausto is a wonderful, welcoming host, and ready to help with whatever is needed. Keep in mind the location, i.e. mountain roads (albeit in excellent condition), and the nearest shop being approx. 20 minutes' drive. Strongly recommend doing a shop on the way in.I recommend trying all the local village restaurants, and plenty of wonderful walks and hikes (Monte Matanna being the local landmark). "

"Check In war okay. Schlüssel befand sich wie mitgeteilt am Ort. Alles in allem war es dort schön. Schöner Pool. Kids hatten Freude. Küche bräuchte dringend eine Grundreinigung. Abzugshaube eklig. Gegend sehr abgelegen und ziemlich weit weg zur Hauptstraße. Info über die Mülltrennung wäre noch gut gewesen. Müll von Vorgänger war bis zur unserer Abreise nicht abgeholt worden. "

"A beautiful farmhouse in a stunning location. The house was clean, tidy and well equipped with comfortable beds and ample space to sit both inside and out for dining and relaxing. The views are quite spectacular and waking every morning to open the shutters to this was breathtaking. The metato was superb and made a great space for my sister and her family to stay in, containing separate bathrooms and tea and coffee making facilities. 7 of us stayed very comfortably within the main house and 3 in the metato with room for another. The pool area was especially relaxing, with a good sized clean pool, a table chairs and sun loungers. Most importantly, there were sun umbrellas and plenty of shade in all the seating areas. Plenty of board games and books are provided and the sitting room is a perfect space for all sitting together. The local Spar provides most of the basics and is around an 8 minute drive away.We cannot recommend this property enough, Mike was brilliant at communicating and sent us all the information we needed for a very smooth stay. We were all very impressed and sad to leave this little piece of Tuscan heaven."

"Our stay was UNBELIEVABLE! We chose “The Barn” for our visit. It was small but, packed with all of the charm of an quaint Italian farmhouse.The views from the saltwater pool made us speechless… we never tired of taking in all the beauty around us.The kitchen had all we needed to make our simple meals.The housekeeper was very conscientious to our needs. She spoke very little English but, the phone translator made it easy.If, you are looking for a quiet, somewhat remote area , with views that will blow your mind… this is perfect for you.We would definitely return and possibly try a different cottage on the property.Stefano has 4 different homes to choose from.He has kept the charm and original splendor to his property and we greatly appreciated our stay."

"Superb stylish villa with wonderful gardens and pool. Remote control gates added a great feel of security. Table under the pergola was superb for taking meals. We cooked outside all the time as the Bbq was excellent and the local shops, especially the Sigma, had a great variety of meat and a seafood counter where we bought squid and prawns etc. There is a larger Esselunga supermarket on John F Kennedy in Lido di Camaoire but once we discovered the Sigma there was no need to return. We would greatly recommend the Ristorante Antipasteria Katia Montebello on the end of Via Grotto just a few minutes walk from the Villa. We went there twice as the food and service was so good. We would recommend the villa for those wanting a home away from home experience - well appointed, extremely clean, comfortable beds, plenty of towels (including pool towels) supplied. Within easy driving distance of Lido Di Camaiore for the beach, Pietrasanta, Pisa and Lucca for sightseeing and shopping . Our hosts Donatella and her son Gabriel were very courteous with good communication."

"We had a nice week here at this house in the mountains. The view was stunning, incredible bird song all day, and lumenescent fireflies at night.Lovely places to sit and enjoy the scenery and have a meal. Pool is small but great for a dip to cool off.The house is very charming and is better in real life! Lorenzo was very helpful and welcoming."
