"I absolutely loved my stay at Basma Hotel-Aswan. I celebrated my birthday at the hotel and was made to feel so special by all the staff. Special thank you to Miss Reham, guest relations manager, Felo from the Admin team, Mohamed from the night reception team and the wonderful Mr Waleed from the restaurant. I loved my stay so much that I extended for an additional three days."

"Small, quiet hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Restaurant in the hotel is pretty good, and there is an additional restaurant just down the hill. It is the same menu, but a change of scenery no less."

"The place is on Elephantine island, you can only get there by ferry. The cost is minimal around $ .70 for a one way. The island is way quieter than the mainland. Make sure you are expected upon arrival, signage is limited."

"Beautiful location with easy access to the ferry terminal. We were met by Gamal and brought across to the island on his boat. From the moment we met him Gamal went out of his way to ensure that we had everything we needed and more. We learnt much from him about the Nubian culture and people and we have great respect for him. We would lovee to return again. The next day we hired Gamals Felucca and spent a wonderful day and night sailing the Nile. Breakfast was delicious and there are great restaurants for the evening just next door to Ana-Ka too."
