The cosy, spacious box bed and two single beds upstairs can accommodate four people. Comfortable furniture, TV, Wi-Fi, kitchen—everything you need for a wonderful holiday is provided.

This former fishing village is one of the most unique villages in Friesland. Once you’ve been here, you’ll never forget this spot on the seawall. The lookout point with its impressive fishermen’s monument, the little church with Gothic and Neoclassical details, the protected village landscape, and the ‘t Fiskershuske museum make this village a unique part of the Wadden Sea experience.

Accessible mudflat walking tours are organised from Moddergat. During these tours, you can admire salt marshes, mussel beds, and channel systems. But even without a guide, you can walk about two kilometres out to sea here without getting your feet dirty. Once you reach the farthest point of the breakwater, you’ll feel as if you’re alone in the world—a magical experience in every season.
