It was spacious and beautifully designed traditional and modern mixed Japanese space. Loved the wooden beams and the private indoor and outdoor onsen. I highly recommend this place. The food was plentiful and delicious and the sky onsen views were incredible. The private onsens in our room was very roomy too! The whole experience was wonderful and the service was very good. Our main server, Divas, was very polite and attentive. I don’t think they want to cater to westerners, other than the dinner menu nothing else is translated. I had a hard time with the a/c control which is all in japonese. The private baths are great. The food was wonderful on the first night but not as good on the second , same with breakfast. My first dinner and breakfast were wonderful , second Wasn’t as good. The a/c was right over my bed so the air blows at the bed, not too comfortable. The bed sinks in the middle. We took a taxi from Kumamoto, it took 2 hours. The private baths were great. There are no snacks in the rooms and nothing to order, bring some !
