About this property
Best location in Milwaukee! Upper Duplex Unit
LONG TERM STAYS WELCOME. Unit is right off Brady Street, one of the best streets in Milwaukee. Over 70 places to eat or drink within walking distance, including bars with free shuttles to brewers games and Summerfest. There are many shops and grocery stores in the neighborhood and everything you could possibly want is a short Uber ride away. Best enjoyed by up to four people whether they be couples, friends, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets)
The space is a private Upper unit in a quaint old school Milwaukee duplex. This is not a modern-built house it has the character of the 100-year-old building it is. It contains 2 bedrooms (both with Queen beds, one room has a curtain as its door) and a roomy living room with a futon couch. We have a fully stocked kitchen so that you can cook your own meals and there is a laundry area for you to use in the basement. We provide WIFI and a TV with Roku built-in, allowing access to Netflix, Hulu, and several other apps. The TV has an antenna for local channels. Windows are in the process of being replaced.
You'll have access to the entire Upper level of the duplex, including balcony. Kids and pets are always welcome!
We will be staying near by and will be available if any help is needed, we can also provided any suggestions to great things to do in the area.
This house is in the best possible neighborhood! We are located a half block away from Brady street, less then a mile to downtown and water street.
Some of the perks of the location are:
*Less then a 15 min walk to 73 bars and restaurants (every type of food you could want)
*Less then a 15 min walk to several neat shops, and larger stores
*Walkable to 4 grocery stores, including Gloriosos- which wins an award for best deli every year.
*10 min walk to Lakefront brewery, which does daily brew tours and a fish fry and polka dance on fridays.
*A 5 min walk to several bars that provide free shuttles to summerfest.
*A 5 min walk to Jacks bar which has free shuttles to almost all of the festivals, brewers games and major events in Milwaukee.

The park also includes several trails for running, walking or biking, a yacht club with boat/jet ski rentals. *Less then a block away from a bike rental (Bubbler) or a Zipcar.
*Less then a 10 min Uber ride to
** The amtrak station with trains running several times a day to Chicago
** Marcus center for the performing arts
** Harley Davidson Museum
** Milwaukee Market
** Milwaukee Museum
** Third ward (Things such as Splash studios, Fore golf bar, Evo pingpong bar, many neat shops and restaurants)
We are a half a block away from a bus stop, however we recommend Uber. Uber is cheap in Milwaukee, and with our home being centrally located most fairs are $5-10. However the bus located on Brady (the green line) goes directly to the Airport stopping in Bayview, The third ward, Downtown, Water street, North Street and up to the Bayshore mall. Most fun things to do are located with walking distance off the Green line and we wouldn't recommend switching buses as it can be confusing and lead to bad areas of town. New to Milwaukee is a tram car that you can also use to get around certain parts of downtown.
We are located near Zipcars, and bubbler bike rentals. If renting a car street parking is normally very easy to find on our block.
Occupancy Tax: there will be an Wisconsin state occupancy tax of 15.1% on your reservation.
Cancellation Policy: please be aware our cancellation policy is set to strict due to the demand for the space. So be sure before booking.
Parking: there is no on site parking but there is free street parking right outside the unit but Milwaukee only allows three free nights over a 30 day period, and Saturdays are always free and don’t count toward your total. If you are staying with us for longer than that a parking pass may be needed and costs $20. The $20 is for a 4-month pass which is the lowest time frame available.

The property was located in a great location within walking distance to downtown and restaurants/bars. It was both clean and comfortable. Although the property was obviously older the price was right for what it offered.
Amazing location. We didn’t need anything fancy for our trip, mainly a place to crash at night in a good location to get to a few different places in the city. For having window A/C units, the place was very easy to cool down and stay cool during our late August trip. We also appreciated the comfy beds and good water pressure. Overall very good vibes.
We love that it’s dog friendly, but a heads up that there’s nothing to block the stairs to the front door, so we had to make shift a barricade for our dumb curious dog who hurts themselves on stairs. So if your dog doesn’t do well with stairs, just know you might have to block off that area. Also, if you’re taller than 5’7, watch your head coming up the front steps.
We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely keep this on our list of places to stay when we come back to Milwaukee. It’s truly a great location to explore the city.

Needs some maintenance
Complete transparency. Great communication was much appreciated before we checked in and during our stay. That being said, the place was not fully cleaned or maintained outside. Not sure why they charge the cleaning fee. I think pictures of the fridge showing how dirty it was on the inside. Found dirty silverware when I went to get a fork out to use. Yeah I guess these things can happen but I would pay attention to details like this! We also tripped a breaker using one air conditioner. There are 3 units within, but at the time we were only using one. We contacted the owner who did respond in a timely manner. They told us that it can happen and to try to just use the one air conditioner. We didn’t have a problem with that as it was our last night there and we were going to be gone for the evening and the temp was fairly mild. But that wasn’t what was included in the listing. We were in the upper duplex part and my husband had to go outside, locate the basement entrance and flip the breaker. That did fix the problem and we were afraid to use the air anymore as it might be a fire hazard. Also the outside needs maintained better for safety, especially at night. Overgrown bushes and weeds by stairs entering home.
Like I said, very good with communication but need to fix a few things.
We stayed here for Summerfest and it worked out great! It was a 40 min walk but Uber was also available! It was just what we needed. Communication with the host was quick and professional. We had questions upon checking in and we were able to contact the host immediately with a response. If you are concerned about street noise at night this may not be the place for you. Brady Street is very close and brings lots of noise at night. This may not always be the case but it definitely was for Summerfest weekend.
This is a small upstairs apartment in a very old home! Went to Milwaukee to visit my daughter. Just needed a clean place to sleep in a convenient location. Nothing fancy. Worked out great for us. Great communication with owner.
Property was clean and well located. The main problem was that VRBO sent the wrong door code. I had to call owner to get the right code to enter

Great location
The property is located in a great little neighborhood walking distance to Brady St. The upper unit is in need of tlc & lots of cleaning. We had to scrub the tub & the top of fridge before considering to stay & rough it out. The unit has very poor lighting, especially in the bathroom. The owner was very responsive to our questions & accommodated us with early check in.

Do Not Rent This Home
This home is in terrible condition; run-down, broken windows, and not secure. In addition, when we arrived it was filthy; human and dog hair in the bed, human hair in the silverware drawer and bath tub, greasy table and dusty floors. It was very obvious someone had been living there. This is probably the worst home on the block, and is definitely the worst rental we have ever had!
After a brief hiccup checking in that was no fault of the owners themselves (and the owner was quick to respond and fix), our stay was quite enjoyable. We loved the location, found the bed to be super comfy, and had a wonderful weekend in Milwaukee!
We were very comfortable in this space in terms of the nececities available and the hominess of the apartment. It was easy to head down to the street and walk the dogs. The neighborhood was nice and in close, but not too close proximity to the action on Brady street. Would stay here again.
The duplex is charming, loved that we could walk to lots of great restaurants! We especially loved Casablanca, food was great and the atmosphere fun! Loved Kompali, great tacos! Go on Tuesday, $1 off tacos! Loved Apollo’s, great food at very reasonable prices! If you like vintage clothes, check out Bandit! For coffee/tea, Rochambo’s is wonderful and the staff super friendly and nice!
I’d stay here again!!

Needs TLC
We choice this rental as it was close to our daughters apartment. We knew it was an older property and are ok with that. The issues were about lack of maintenance. The paint was badly in need of touch up, a chair in the living room dirty, peeling paint and weeds by the entrance, broken blinds, etc. It could be really a cute place with some TLC. That being said, nothing was enough to send us packing, but would not stay again.
